Wrong again, Ford Transits are made by Ford of Europe (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Europe), which is essentially a separate European company, under the name of their American counterparts. If Ford was simply an American company, and just American, do you think we'd be driving cars like the Focus? Or the Fiesta? No, these are European cars/vehicles, designed, manufactured and assembled in Europe (In fact, look at the above Wikipedia link, scroll to near the bottom and you'll see that the Transit is actually made in ENGLAND, entirely nullifying your point
). Increasingly now, Ford Motor Company looks to Ford of Europe for it's worldwide cars/vehicles as they realise that Ford of Europe is producing Ford's best poop
tl;dr Ford, to me and you, is a German company.
Ford Transits come in a multitude of different types, ranging from vans of different sizes and specs, all the way through to TRUCKS like the one I drive.
Just to help make it more obvious:

Truck:
It's not rocket surgery [:P]
