So there was a storm and then this giant crack happened. The tree is in the parkway so it's the village's responsibility thankfully (you don't own the parkway infront of your house).
So the tree could fall on to our driveway/street and hit pretty much nothing. OR, it could knock out the entire area's electricity, phone, and internet since the hubs are in my side yard.
If this was a waste of your time I apologize but I it interesting how the bark buckled as one unit and how you can totally crack a tree right down the middle (the trunk a little under a meter in diameter, the crack is an inch apart and extends into the stump). Crack got wider in the last storm....

Internetz, cable, phone, and electric all have little hubs in one direction of possible collapse.
Still a mystery as to how this happened since there are trees double in height within 20ft of this one and there isn't a dead branch on it.
