Amazing that the rebuttal to this campaign is made by a woman of larger size. Who woulda thunk?

But seriously, when is this country going to stop shoving cheese burgers and deep fried oreos down their throats and come to the sane conclusion that we need to lose some weight? I can understand somebody having a problem with their weight, that's not my issue. Its that so many people, more than a majority of our population, have this issue. Isolated cases where obesity is caused by something along the lines of depression is understandable, but I find it hard to believe that more than half of our country is suffering from chronic depression or other related illness leading to this pandemic.

Sorry if I have offended anybody, it was not my intention. But this topic has gone so far in the last ten years and it irks me to death that it just gets worse year after year.

Fat people need to stop bitching and start jogging for 5 minutes at a time. It's not that hard, now is it?

I can understand someone being born a stocky person. It's that person who's just a little wide but he doesn't have a gut big enough to break pants buttons. But if you're obese, it may not be ALL your fault, but a large portion of it is. I don't care if you're fat, because you can do what you want. When you start asking people to change things and adapt to YOUR lifestyle, I start having a problem.

I'll only accept the NAAFA's argument against Obama's plan when the spokesperson doesn't have >1 chin.

^ I agree. Seems like everyone wants acceptance now. It's really getting on my nerves. Homosexuals, yea okay, do what you want. Fat people on the other hand... Why do we have to accept that you like to eat 5 happy meals a day and don't do anything?

Ckid, were talking about fat people, not my political views. Stay on topic. That that comment is far from what I actually think.

It sounds like the NAAFA is an organization that sees nothing wrong with people making terrible decisions that only hurt themselves and then doing exactly what I said I have a problem with.

When you start asking people to change things and adapt to YOUR lifestyle, I start having a problem.

You're just ruining it for everyone! Including yourself! What sense does this organization make?

It's one of the single most explicit displays of stupidity I've seen in a very long time.

"Well, more and more people are getting fat, so obviously there's nothing wrong with it."

The lack of reasoning is incredibly frustrating.

Why does it seem 75% of the CoasterCrazy community has a problem with overweight people?

I have a problem with overweight people that want people to change things for the better of themselves and nobody else. They'd do themselves and everyone else good by losing weight and not asking people to change things/plans to fit their needs.

I agree. The reason why I support homosexual rights but not fat rights is for two reasons:

1: Homosexuals never chose to be such. That's what they are.

2: Homosexuals are not endangering themselves or anyone else by being such. It's all about love. They simply love a different person, that's all.

The reasons why I don't support fat rights:

1: For the most part, it is the fat person's fault for going that far. Yes, there are a few people that have legitimate eating/depression disorders, but not two thirds of our country. I have to admit, it can sometimes be pretty freaking hard trying to resist one of the most central tendencies that is hardwired into our DNA (like it or not, we evolved to gorge, because millions of years ago, when we were all starving little monkeys in Africa, we never knew when our next meal would be) and our technology has outpaced our evolution. However, with enough motivation, you can, in fact, stop eating. Right now, I want the doughnut holes that my dad bought today. I had two earlier, but I'm not going to eat them. In fact, I'm going to exercise for about an hour after I'm done with this post.

2: Their habits are endangering themselves, and our medical bills are going sky high thanks to all of these preventable diseases. All these fat people are clogging up the system like they are with their own arteries. Think about all those medications, all those surgeries, all those procedures that stem from heart issues and overeating?

Yes, bullying is a massive issue in our schools, but this is in no way how it should be tackled. Yes, her facts were correct. But the fact is fat people are damaging our health care system, though the food corporations are getting crap loads of money, I'll admit. Also, how would Michelle Obama's message be a permission for some kids to bully fat kids? My reason is this: Two months after the Libyan Revolution started, the vast majority of my high school of 1,500 (not counting 9th grade; that's in the junior high in my district) had no idea that there was even a revolution in Libya, let alone where the country was, or even that it was a country. I wanted to throw up at how unaware they were about that but how unaware they are about anything other than celebrity gossip crap. If I (I'm in the top 16% of my graduating class, but thanks to my Music and Engineering skills, most see me as one of the smartest kids in the school) only heard about this fat program once or twice before seeing this article, there's no way that anyone here would have seen it. Granted, I don't think that my high school, as a pretty well achieving suburban, Central New York high school may have been the target audience, but still.
