Alright! Well, as this contest has come to a close, I had a pretty fun time seeing what you guys came up with here! Overall, we had 8 parks enter the first ever CoasterCrazy RCT2 contest! This was a great turnout overall, and has encouraged the possibility of future contests. Before I give out the results, KrazyKoasterKid also would like to say this:
"I was very happy that I could judge this contest. I want to thank GavG for helping me to make this contest into a reality, and I hope we can have more contests in the future. Congratulations to all the winners, and props to those who tried."
Now, without further ado, it's time to announce the winners of this contest!
1st place goes to SplEagles!
2nd place goes to Jonny Richey!
3rd place goes to CoasterKat!
Here is the breakdown of the scores, including the judges' ratings:

-It was hard to find my way around the paths, even from an ariel view.
A: 9/10
+That was one friggin' awesome CCI.
+Loved the Arrow.
-Park didn't really appeal too well to families.
O: 8/10
+Wow. The space over the river was used very effectively. It's amazing to see what can be done with so little.
-/+The name was a little... eh.
+Thanks for telling me the different designer styles. That really helped me a lot.
Park B-
T: 7/10
+Worked around the river well enough.
-Didn't really use the river to your advantage. (i.e., coasters running over the river, etc.)
+Your rides were all original, plus you used the height rule to your advantage.
A: 9/10
+Coasters were fun.
+Park would appeal to families, as well as coaster enthusiasts.
-There weren't ANY kiddie coasters, which is a problem.
O: 7.5/10
-/+A whole other coaster probably could've fit, had you bridged the river more wisely.
-The name didn't match the theme of the park.
-Your Dive Machine was poorly supported.
+Liked the bridges, though.
Park C-
T: 7.5/10
+All of the rides appeared to be fun.
-Dare Devil was way too short. Half of it was the blocking system.
+Paths were simple and easy to follow.
A: 8/10
+Dynamo was definately the best ride, hands down. It had five inversions and a great layout
-/+Maniac was okay, not really a whole lot good or bad.
-Dare Devil was just too short to be fun.
O: 8.5/10
+That was one awesome bridge. Props to you.
+Lots of scenery around the bigger coasters, and less around smaller ones.
-Horrible park name.
Park D-
T: 8.5/10
+Rides were supported beautifully.
+Used smaller rides and bigger, which appeals to families.
A: 7.5/10
+Winter Madness is insane, man.
-Bat quest spent half the ride underground.
-Your side-friction coaster didn't use a block system, and it came close to crashing a couple of times.
O: 8/10
-I loved the idea of using two different seasons, but then you had Bat Quest thrown in, which doesn't represent either side.
+The station building for Winter Madness is about half of this score, maybe more <3.
Park E- DQ'D
+Great scenery and theming.
+Loved the Japanese idea.
-I felt like the dueling coasters took over the entire park, and the third ride was just thrown in there.
Park F-
T: 8.5/10
+Very nice job supporting your rides.
+Oh my God, that is one compact coaster you've got there.
-I felt like the looper took over the entire park.
A: 7/10
-None of your rides were really that big or exciting.
+Good job on that looper, though. Wow.
-While I get the concept of The Knot, there wasn't enough there for it to be very exciting.
O: 8/10
+I really liked how you bridged the river, for the path and the ride.
-Unoriginal park name.
+Loved the station building for the looper.
Park G-
T: 8/10
+No one ride dominated the entire park.
-Didn't really appeal to families.
+Rides all had a nice flow and seemed to be fun.
-Not nearly enough flat rides.
A: 8/10

O: 8/10
+Cool name for the park.
-/+Rides could've had bigger, better elements... and names.
Park H-
T: 7.5/10
+Paths were all easy to follow.
-Rodent Run had some serious stacking.
+The bridge was cool.
-Avoided the river, rather than using it.
A: 7.5/10
+Rides were all pretty cool.
-Marathon had the most sensical numbers to attract riders (high excitement, low intensity), but nobody wanted to ride it.
-Didn't appeal to families the best.
O: 7.5/10
-Park name sounded arrogant, for what turned out to be mediocre.
-Loopscrew? Seriously?
+The rooftop ride was cool.
rcking04's ratings:
Park A
An amazing park! Truly a great example of working with what you were given, and really using everything to your advantage! This theme park has a very interesting layout, with a very realistic touch.
T: Everything looked realistic. The only major complaint that I find justifiable for lowering the score here would be the extreme clustering of bridges. While you tried extremely hard to avoid anything pertaining to the river, it just looked way too overdone. Be that as it may, it really wasn't that big of a problem, and was more of an aesthetic issue. In addition, I didn't like how Treetop Twister lacked a covered station like all the other coasters. The use of scenery on the bridges was pretty interesting, and it actually helped the look of them. Great job as well for using the scenery as supports for Black Stallion. Very realistic for what you had to work with. I think the use of multiple flat rides was great; however it made the park appear way more crowded than it truly is.
Score: 9
A: Now, as for the rides themselves, I liked how there was some variety thrown in from Arrow loopers to Intamin accelerators. However, many of the rides you had didn't offer enough for guests who prefer medium thrill coasters. I mean, Timber Corkscrew had a thrill rating of 10.17! Minus Treetop Twister, which was suitable for any thrill seeker, there weren't many other major rides for the guests who preferred medium/low thrills. The log flume?????????s drop into the station was very poorly designed, as the boat collided with another boat right after the
drop, which isn't a very realistic approach.
Timber Corkscrew had a pretty nice design. It was very realistic for an Arrow coaster. However, the train took the corkscrews way too fast. I can tell that the high thrill rating came from the strong laterals Gs produced by the corkscrew and last hill. I think you could have added a trim somewhere before it to minimalize the Gs.
Treetop Twister was very nicely incorporated in that space. Though it was a little short, it certainly looked well-planned. The only issue with it I had was the use of brakes while the train was travelling at a high speed over the station. I would have liked to have seen something a little better there.
Forest Runner was fantastic! Great design! It certainly looked like a Gravity Group coaster, and I was a bit surprised you branded it as a CCI. The only major tiny issue with it was the slow speed over the hill that Black Stallion goes under.
Black Stallion was very nice. Certainly realistic, and certainly very fun! I guess the only issue with it was not using a trim at the top of the second hill to slow the train down a little bit before the drop and brake run.
Score: 8.5
O: This was overall, such a nice park with many areas of expertise thrown in. Your park had a lot of detail, and it was just a very pleasant park to watch idly for a while. Everything was just working. The roller coasters were running smoothly with realistic blocks, and the guests had no problem getting to the rides. However, the guests couldn't find their way to the park exit apparently?????????
Score: 9.5
Park B
Well, this was a pretty disappointing entry to say the least. The park suffered from poor ride designs, lack of any kind of scenery, and no apparent park layout.
T: Every coaster had an unrealistic design, especially Thunderation and Banshee. Supporting was pretty bad as well, leaving both coasters just mentioned virtually unsupported during their drops. The park had no scenery at all, and it looked very plain and dull. The bridging of the river was pretty efficient; however it did not have a realistic shape. By that, I mean it doesn't tie in with the park layout at all. There is no general loop shape to the park. Everything is branched.
Score: 5.5
A: The coasters were all too thrilling for guests who prefer lesser thrilled rides. This pales in comparison to the very unrealistic design of each ride. There were way too many thrill rides and not enough medium/gentle rides, which would not appeal to a wide demographic. Now on to the coasters:
Alter Ego is a pretty interesting take on a classic Boomerang. The design of the corkscrew right after the main drop wasn't really a good idea, as well as the helix under the station. Roller coasters usually do not tend to sit on ground level since no supports can really exist there in RCT2. Also, trees surrounding a roller coaster aren?????????t really all that scenic at all.
Banshee is a pretty interesting concept of a B&M launched coaster, yet it suffered from too much ground level interaction and awkward design. It was largely under-supported in many of its inversions. Also, two loops and two corkscrews? I think you could have came up with a little bit better of a design for this.
Thunderation was just something poorly made. Way too high for its own good, and you didn't know what to do with it. Going from a high speed straight into brakes before continuing on to gain speed and go through a loop doesn't sound like a very fun experience. Add this to its already unrealistic design, and you have a pretty bad coaster here.
Score: 4.5
O: Nothing original here except the coasters. Everything was plain and simple. Oh, and you didn't rename the park in the scenario.
Score: 4
Park C
This was a very beautiful park. You had a great idea here, and you displayed an excellent park layout. However, your major areas of concern fall to your roller coasters.
T: Everything was realistic, minus Dynamo, which shouldn?????????t have been really attempted due to the lack of scenery (aka B&M supports). Didn?????????t like how there was only one place to use the restroom in the whole park as well as eat, but a small park should suffice with one eating area (so it's not that big a deal). The bridge was truly scenic, and it is by far the best bridge I've seen in the contest. So, congratulations on that! The pond right next to the park entrance was very, very nice as well. I like how you didn't go too crazy over land development, and Dare Devil looked very good on the hill. The ride stations were very detailed, Dynamo?????????s perhaps a little too much, which really helped the park?????????s appearance.
Score: 9.5
A: This was pretty good here in terms of ride interests: A major wild mouse coaster, a Premier LIM coaster, and a B&M Dive Machine. However, there were only 5 rides total in your park????????? and only the simulator and Maniac would be considered minor thrill rides (yes, I know Maniac had like the highest thrill rating, but we all know what kind of rides those are). My issue with Dynamo was that it was perhaps too much for the park, and you could have placed a wooden coaster (ride variety?) and another medium thrill ride to help balance out the ratio of thrill rides with gentle rides. Last of all, if your coasters are on a block brake system, then they don't need to have 5-6 track long stations! Coaster time:
Maniac was not executed well. All the trains sat on block brakes for half the ride. This is not realistic design. Also, the ride had a very high thrill rating because the hairpin turns were pulling insane laterals Gs, which means they were taken way too fast. Also, the ride could have ended a little bit earlier to avoid having so many block brakes and cars.
Dare Devil was awesome. Loved it. Can't think of any complaints about it except for the lack of a pre brake drop brake (which would have made it more realistic) and the extremely long station since it was using a block brake.
Dynamo just didn't fit in very well. It was a space hog, and it was way too under-supported. It had an interesting design, but I think you should have done something else in its place. There is not much more I can say about this other than that I hope that that second corkscrew-inline twist combo was supposed to resemble an overbank!
Score: 7.5
O: Very beautiful park, and a very nice layout. You kept everything simple for the park, yet elaborate with the coasters. This contrast works out very well, and the park layout being easy to see. Thank you for having spacious park paths!
Score: 10
Park D
I liked it! It was a nice park to look at, and it had a few cool features. But, crowding led to some very poor decisions made.
T: Everything looks good for what?????????s above land. However, what?????????s below it is where your park draws most of my complaints. The go-karts completely underground? Not really ideal for the park. The river rapids mostly underground too? Hmm????????? Bat Quest swinging around underground? Nope. I do have to say that I did love the stations for Winter Madness and Summertime Blues. However, Summertime Blues is an awful name (and color) for such a fun ride. The corner bridge though by Winter Madness was not really all that thought out?????????
Score: 7
A: The ride were very fun! A great order of progression from a unique side-friction woodie to a mini swinging coaster to a powerhouse B&M coaster! The go-karts were a nice touch if it hadn?????????t have been underground. The rides were accessible for riders of all ages. And, now on to the coasters:
Bat Quest was pretty cool, minus the unrealistic part of it underground. I liked it overall, especially the fly-by of the park entrance.
Summertime Blues should have had a different name and a different color. The theming of the ride was phenomenal! I loved the design, but I didn't really like the ending lift that was redundant. In fact, a brake section would have been more ideal.
Winter Madness was just everywhere! That barrel roll over the river looked very well planned, and you certainly knew how to support the ride well. My only major complaint is it's apparent shortness and the hard slam into the brake run at the end.
Score: 8.5
O: Overall, the park had a pretty nice look, and it certainly had some original ideas thrown in, however it was the poor planning of the rides resulting in underground sections that held back the true potential and beauty of this park.
Score: 8
Park E
A beautiful park! The coaster was truly a marvel to watch! I absolutely loved it! It's a shame it's disqualified.
T: The park was stunning to say the least. However, a support for the Blue Fujin Rajin III lift hill did indeed touch the marshy land by the river, which does mean your park has been instantly disqualified. The supports for Fujin Rajin III was just insane, but it also completely hides the park to the point that I have to use ?????????Invisible Supports????????? in order to look at the rest of the park! From what else I can see, the park is beautiful! The scenery is top notch! The bridge was so perfect for me, and iconic for having the ?????????ferrish????????? wheel on it! GENIUS!
Score: 10 (DQ)
A: The roller coasters were for the big people only... Nothing really more gentle than the carousel and the ferris wheel. This is a bit of a drag for you because a minor thrill coaster would have been perfect for this park, and it probably would have given you a 10 here as well. Coaster time!
Fujin Rajin III are the best coasters in this contest, hands down. Sections where either side can pull ahead gave this ride the perfect racing experience. The only complaint I had was that red side did have a more exciting layout (evident with the fact that red side had more people lining up for it than blue).
Invertigo was your standard run of the mill Invertigo. Nothing really much else here other than the nice effect of the towers being over the river. The supports were a bit messy for that, but they worked overall.
Score: 8
O: Only park to go the Engrish route. Loved it!
Score: 10
Park F
What a nice park. It was just so refreshing to see such a simple park. I saw nothing complicated attempted here, and it's your best advantage over the other parks.
T: Since you stuck with a simple park, I saw very little issues with over crowding that plagued other parks. The supports for are your coasters were very realistic, minus some unsupported sections with a few coasters, like The Knot most noticeably. The bridge was very simple, and realistic to say the least. The park scenery was beautiful, as well as the ?????????entrance.????????? There was only one place for food though, which really isn't all that good.
Score: 9.5
A: The rides were great! While they were all thrilling, it was easily apparent that they appeal to all demographics. Nothing way to thrilling, yet nothing too boring. This was just a well balanced park, offering a natural beauty mixed with a nice mix of thrill rides. The varied terrain also was huge plus here. Now, on to the coasters:
The Dragon was my favorite ride in your park, and I think it's perfect circling the whole park while offering a thrilling yet not over the top experience. I loved the tunnel as well.
The Knot was pretty interesting, offering a unique ride experience, though I think you should have raised the whole ride 5 feet so you could have had supports underneath it, making it appear a little bit more realistic.
Impulse was just good. Nothing much too it. It was pretty cool how you got it to fit in with The Dragon with it there.
Score: 9.5
O: You really worked hard at making sure that the river was still there to be viewed by anyone, as well as added beauty to the park with flowers, terrain, and simple coaster designs. What a great park!
Score: 10
Park G
The park was interesting, but it was poorly executed. I think this had some nice potential overall.
T: The supports were very interesting. Didn?????????t like how the major ?????????bridge????????? served only an exit for a ride, that was pretty poor planning on your part. The park itelf did not feature a very good layout, nor did feature much scenery into the park itself other than the rides. You had the right idea, but you really just needed to expand on it some more.
Score: 7
A: The coasters were all right. The LIM shuttle probably wasn't such good idea in my opinion, but you certainly had two great coasters to make up for it. The coasters did cover a pretty good spectrum of thrills for guests of all interests. The only complaint I have before the coaster ratings would be that I would have liked to see a little bit more gentle rides offered. Now, on to the fun part:
Silver Express was a very fun ride! I liked how it had a simple terrain based ride, but the only problem was that it was a little bit under-supported in a few parts. I didn't like how the helix required an extremely awkward bridge to support it.
The Hole was pretty interesting ride as well. I didn't like that it went into a brake right after the first drop and hill though. It however was pretty realistic overall. The helix spiral was pretty nice, but the awkward brake before it just kinda ruined it.
The Serpent I didn't like. It felt like it was that third coaster you needed to somehow squeeze in to meet the minimum of three coasters.
Score: 8
O: It was an alright park, but I think you could have done better with scenery, park layout, and ride design to really bring the potential of this park out.
Score: 6.5
Park H
It was an OK park, but you did not really add beauty to the park to make it stand out from other parks.
T: Underground go-kart track. Another park did this, and just like that park, I don't like it. It's not a very realistic design overall. The supports were alright for most of the rides, minus some empty spots on Marathon. I think your park deserves the best food court award though for having more than 2 food stalls in the whole park! Congratulations! However, the bridging was spartan, and the magic carpet ride was just... weird sitting up on supports unnecessarily. The footpaths were all over the place though, which didn't help the overall look of the park unfortunately.
Score: 7.5
A: The coasters were pretty fun. I loved the ride variety, both thrill rides and coasters! I scrambler right above the food court was pretty interesting. My major complaints for this park though are the lack of scenery for the rides. Now, on to the coasters:
Marathon was a nice design inspired by Iron Wolf. It probably had a bit of crowding leading to missing supports in areas. But you kept it fun, which I liked overall with it.
Rodent Run had the same problem like Maniac: block brakes. It was a huge problem here. Also, you could have really thought the design over a lot better. The chain lift thing was just... bad... I can't think of any other way to describe it. Also, you have a block brake system. The station doesn't need to be 5-6 tracks long.
Loopscrew was awesome! I am a fan of the Arrow/Vekoma loopers of those designs, and you definitely took that concept and created a very original ride. Great job here!
Score: 8
O: You could have really made this a better park if you took more time to make a logical path layout as well as make it much more scenic.
Score: 6
Here are some visuals for the results. Hope you guys enjoyed this contest!
