Goliath (SFMM) recreation. Basically started it today just for fun. As I started progressing, I realized this could be a serious project. I am just unsure about 2 Things..

Anyone know how high the station is? I currently have it at 40 ft.

Also, the angle of degrees of the lift hill. I've look at many pictures and I got an estimation of 33 degrees. What do you think? steeper? less?

Here is a picture of what I have so far. The angle of degrees of the first drop is exactly 61 degrees.

That actually looks really, really good! Looking forward to see this progress! I've only been on it once, and only seen it twice, but from what I remember (and the pictures with Titan in the background while NTG was being built) it looks spot on.

Thanks for that picture A113... yeah station looks lower than what I have. The steepness of the lift hill seams about right. Anyone have a side picture of the 2nd drop?

Goliath is one of the best coasters in the world. I would ride it over SFNE's Bizzaro without a doubt.

As for the station height, compared to the level of the ground where the majority of the ride sits on, I'd say it's about 30 ft. Take a look a this and you can judge for yourself.

Doesn't really matter though, even it you have it a 20 or 50 ft, it doesn't affect the rest of the ride that much.

Good luck

Titan/Goliath are ok. They are not a top ten ride, but they are still fun.

EDIT: Also, I personally feel Goliath is better then Titan. Titan may have an extra helix, but Goliath is much more smooth.

The aerial shots that Bing took of Titan are much better than they are of Goliath. Titan's aerial's are perfectly vertical.

Except for the first helix (obviously) this is perfect to follow. You can compare it with the Bird's Eye to estimate elevations.

Also, how can Goliath be much more smooth than Titan? I've never been on Goliath, but Titan is in my top 5 for smoothness.

In fact, Titan is probably number 2, only behind NTAG on opening day. That thing was extraordinarily and unusually smooth. I just can't imagine Goliath being MUCH smoother.

I just can't imagine your argument being much less relevant.

This, of course, Baller, will probably be great. Looking forward to more. I once made a Goliath rec. on SM. The first half was nice but I improvised the second half because the pacing in SM really seems to be wasteful.

Because woodies age worse than steel coasters, and only one side is being maintained (well). It's the "much" that confused me.

And I'm not sure where the slightly irritated tone came from, Gerstl, but I was just interested in what Jcoasters said.

ANYWAY. I'll do my best to find a few pics. For the life of me, I can't find pictures of just the turn-around.

This one's good for the profile of the floater hill and turn-around.

Just in case it's useful.

Small picture, but you can at least see what it looks like from the crest of the hill.

Thanks hyyyper, bird's eye view and aerial view is very helpful. I think i'd prefer to use Goliath's aerial view rather than Titans, simply because of the extra helix lol.

As far as Goliath vs. Titan, only been on Goliath. So I can't say much.

small update: Second drop. I've pretty much been comparing picture after picture and going from there. Here is the result I got..

Damn. Nice match! It seems like maybe the second drop may start a little... high. Perhaps drop the trailing end of the turn just a tad to make the turn slope down a couple degrees. Don't take just my word for it, though. Anyone else agree?

Am i the only one that feels the the airtime hill on goliath and titan is one of the most eventfull airtime moments on any coaster? It sustains about -.4 gs for like 4 seconds, and im a twig so the lap bar leaves me almost 2 inches of space. All i remember was that hill feeling soo extended.
