Not sure if this already exist, but i think there should be a place for random questions to get asked about roller coasters. whether it be a noob asking for advice on designing, or one of us having a random coaster related question that we're itching to get an answer for.

So Here's my random question for the day...

Why are certain parts of Rita's track painted that dark brownish/black rather than red? Is this due to alton towers' nazi tree line rule?
always been curious about that.

^Either that or Alton Towers wanted to highlight the 'airtime' sections, or make it seems if the riders are jumping from a ramp made out of red track.

Just some ideas, perhaps a local member does know the real answer.

Why does TTD use a lap bar, but Kingda Ka doesn't????? Their heights and speeds are so close...

You have hit the nail on the head there tmv, that part of the park is almost visible from alton village. The corkscrew used to have a green section at the top of the lift for the same purpose.

^^ My guess is that since KingdaKa has a massive camel back and is taller and faster than TTD they put over-the-shoulder harnesses in for safety just to be safe. Thats just a guess though...

what would happen if magnum xl200 didn't have the massive trim section prior to the pretzel helix turn around?

We would all die from the lats but the airtime afterward would be insane.

Oscar, I think this topic is the demon of cool5 taking over one of our members. The lack of random thoughts and ideas that make no sense what-so-ever is driving everybody insane.

When I was at KBF last November the last row on Boomerang (best seats in the house) were closed off, anyone know why or if they are still closed off?

Yes, Belmont Park bought a Uni-Coaster from them last year.

Were Disneyland and Knott's effected by yesterday's So-Cal-Arizona blackout?
