It's an exact clone of the one in Gurnee.... the only difference is Six Flags expanded beyond Demon to build Shouthwest Territory.

Time for a history lesson:

It was a joke because the last 3 rides that dorney has gotten have been relocated rides 2 of the invert shuttles.
What are these for?

Yea why not make the record 4 inverts instead of 3? Work at Talon one summer work on Flight Deck the next!

On a serious note, Valleyfair! just has Steel Venom and doesn't have a full circuit invert, so if that ride did get moved I would have to think that's the only logical place that it could go in that regard.

That being said, Kings Island has more land, and while it does have 2 inverts (Invertigo and Flying Ace Aerial Chase) one is a shuttle and one is a family coaster, they don't have a "big" full circuit invert. They could easily get a ride like this somewhere around the park. The only issue is the Arrow Flight Deck ride there, so they could name this one Afterburn if they were going to re-use names. I always liked Afterburn or Afterburner better than Flight Deck anyway as a name, or they could go in a completely different direction for a name/theme.

My vote would be for Kings Island personally, but it kind of sounds like maybe the new owners might keep the park open? I don't think long term it will stay open, but I kinda get the impression they might leave it go for a few years yet.

Having "Valleyfair!" in the middle of a sentence doesn't look right to me. It must be the exclamation point. Why does it have an exclamation point anyways?

^^ KI also has Flight Deck, which isn't an invert but in the eyes of the public it is virtually the same kind of ride as a B & M invert.

Its not unheard of now for cedar fair to put 2 of the same kind of coaster into a park.
What are these for?

They should pull a La Ronde and buy an SLC.

I think even the GP can differentiate an invert from a suspended coaster, due to the swinging. I'd like to see Top Gun...err, Flight Deck stay in Northern California, though I do think it'd be a good fit for Kings Island also. But who knows who'll end up with it being that Cedar Fair no longer owns the park.

Edit: It's totally awful that La Ronde paved over that lake to put in an SLC.

Somehow I think when they got rid of Stealth back in 2002, It signed PGA/CGA's death warrant. Because in 2000, they had their only "worlds first" (flying coaster) Since then they weren't able to get another star attraction. It's sad, CGA/PGA was a very underrated park and I really wish I could have gone...That's why I wish it'll become Six Flags California with a Mauer-Sohne X-Car and B&M WingRider.

I seriously doubt Six Flags will purchase Great America, if they did they would have two parks within 40 miles competing against each other for revenue.

I'm hoping this park will survive, but my gut felling is that it won't...I can remember as a kid my Dad taking me to see the park being built when it was Marriott's GA. This place has a lot of good memories and would be sad to see it go.

The one silver lining in this is I remember a local news story not long ago that Six Flags and the county were in talks regarding possible land purchase of the fairgrounds directly across the street from Discovery Kingdom for expansion and the county fair would relocate. If GA closes, expansion at Six Flags could be more financially sound...they would have the local market all to themselves.

You may have all heard it, but here is a link to the article. The buyers are no longer pursuing the park and Cedar Fair will retain its ownership of the park and will continue to operate as is.
