Hi guys,

I have been working hard, contacting developers and what not. Basically every single one says that it would be best if we just started over, fresh with nothing. I am talking about this website. I have been wanting to migrate to a better platform, one that is faster than what we have now and one that is more feature rich and more scalable.

Leaving the technical jargon out. I wanted to ask you the following question.

Option 1.) Would you prefer a brand spanking, better, new website and start fresh without any tracks uploaded to the exchange. We would be able to save the forum topics but the exchange will not be saved. You would be able to upload it again but the ratings, etc would all be gone.

or

Option 2.) Would you prefer we don't improve and stay the way we are just to preserve the tracks?

Please vote as I have been debating this topic a lot and would like your feedback about it. After all, you are the ones using it. [8D]

Yeah, why not? If we allow plenty of time for the people to download their favourite tracks, I see no problem with starting over.

Of course we'll have to add a Montu theme, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Damn...

I voted option 1, but it's gonna suck losing the ratings etc. But I'm a lot better now than I was then, my old rides are nothing to gauge me by. It's other users like Wing_Over etc that it will be a shame for. The one's who have been uploading top rides for a long time. People won't rate them now like they did back then.

Wipe it, but add the option to attach tracks to the forum.

Edit: I see what you mean now, I read it wrong the first time. Yeah I was kind of looking for a new start anyways!

That sounds fine to me, option 1! Sad to see ratings go but we all know who is talented for which ways and why, etc.

Option 2

I feel that CC is the only place where I can download the absolute best NL tracks ever made. I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Voted option one, it would be for the best. Now that all the tracks will be gone though, it will be somewhat harder to find inspiration. With that being said
/downloads all x car tracks.

Also, will premium members still be premium or will they have to re upgrade?

You are right about the first part. But the site is definitely broken. It's very outdated and almost impossible to upgrade the site, or add stuff to it, which makes it expensive to maintain the site and keep up with the times.

Definitely option 1. The site has begun to slow down a lot lately, and while it will suck for the top designers to lose their old tracks, they can reupload them on the new CC. My only concern is this:

How long will CC be down while deploying the new server?

About an hour, we would have it up and running before going live with it.

Because option 3 can't be done.

I vote option 1 if the download limit is taken down for the final day so I can download all of Bobcoasters rides, They have given me a lot inspiration and it is definitly the best collection of woodies on any site. It will be sad to see them go
What are these for?

Wait, why would we keep all the forums? I'm sure there are an insane amount of topics that can be left behind as well!

The main loss would most likely be all the tracks by members who no longer visit the site and would thus re-upload their tracks, like McFly's woodies.

Maybe disable the three track limit just for the day (or a few days) prior to the upgrade/wipe, allowing everyone to download the tracks they wish or haven't had the chance to yet, and then a few hours beforehand announce the upgrade (like a "last chance" sort of thing.)

Either way I'm fine with wiping the slate clean and the upgrade; option 1!

If you are wanting a certain track, I'm sure you could find whoever to IM it to you.
