Because 4 vertexes are a heck of a lot easier to modify than 8 or 16, so I wanted to wait until I'd seen some feedback before I started working on the final smoothing. Otherwise, if I had to go back and change something, I would have done a whole lot of tinkering for nothing. So I was waiting for some feedback on the layout.

And so far, aside from the war over the shaping of the hills, it seems like the layout itself is generally liked, so if nobody has anything else to add, I'll go ahead with it.

Oh so what you did isn't final. I see now.

Perhaps you'd benefit from building for yourself instead of others? The "see what people think" comment can be dangerous.

Be careful with ck's method. I've never heard of that one, and though it may work well for straight hill transitions, I'm fairly certain it's a terrible idea if you transition into a curve, since banking and extremely uneven sections are not friends.

Love how people always focus on the person who replies to someone who called them a name. Never the one being a jerk in the first place. You're just seeing what you want to see.

If you don't want to hear a reply, don't call me out. This is the internet...personal image on a silly little scale like this is not a big deal, and as one can see from the previous post, nomatter what the situation, people will think exactly what they want to think. Why even try.

CJD, cool cool. I can level with you on the force perspective on the matter- the airtime related benefits. That's cool. I guess we'll just see how it turns out

Oh dang dcs, c'mon. His trackwork is the one very good thing about him... no need to bring it to that ;P

But actually I'd say CKidmwm's trackwork is some of the best on the site so again, nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

So now that we are back to the topic of Hyper X...I hope.

cjd-

Four segments on that first hill are fine. Line up the vertice to be equal horizontally. It will give the track segments a natural shaping that you can manipulate with adding more vertice to get the ultimate shape you are going for, whether accurate to a companies style or not.

I hand build for myself (have Newt2, but just to lazy to try to use it, sorry Entropy) and when I post a ride the rates are usually better than I thought they would be as well as score. I'm currently working on a hyper using B&M NL Track. But I am molding my own style into a B&M style. Hills and most turns I am trying to get to look and ride like B&M, but all other elements are not to their specific "conventional" hyper layout. Example is I incorporated a lazy loop type helix around the main drop which is twisted itself.

Just today I was looking at some B&M hyper pics and saw my turn around, but less extreme. My ride won't have B&M trims on hills, I want air.

So what's the progress, cjd? More pics please.

Haven't made any progress at all since this debate started.

PROGRESS UPDATE, 10/24/11:

I'm putting construction of this coaster on hold for the next month so that I can participate in National Novel-Writing Month.

See you all on December 1! It should take about a month or so once I'm back to building, depending on how busy my checkout line gets during the Christmas shopping rush.
