So can we use cable launches like Top Thrill? Still a little unclear on that.

A.S.C said that you could use a cable launch, but it must face upwards.

But none of that really hits here so it's okay.

Waiting a month for an answer to a question could hold people up and is not fair on them.

I'm fine with that, luckily I was able to get on right now to answer. If it becomes a problem than I'm OK with someone else taking care of it.

wait, if it faces upwards,
does that mean it can be like top thirll or kindga ka, cause theres are at a slant and not level.

Do you think super complex box supports are overkill for one loop? I thought that at 100 mph there might have to be stronger supports for the ascensions.

On a different note my coaster is finished already, just need to clean up the track and supports since im horrible at adding custom supports there are always those little broken seams and adding extensions sounds weird for box supports. I need a supporting tutorial...[:(]

NightwindElf is what we call hi-efficiency with his ability to make greatly shaped track and support work in relatively short times that make our amateur 3-month tracks look like crap...which means he would probably get first in another contest that allows one week to finish a coaster.

also, again is there a convenient link to get a cable-lift environment? NCK isnt really working that great...

About the cable lift, I dont know how to make one either but I think ill use one of the cable lifts from the gigas Ive downloaded. Ill probably use the one by macevhichs on colder fusion. Hmm... Havent heard from him in a while...

Umm, you might want to get permission before you start using stuff other people created.

It's taken me this long to get the lift angle that I wanted and I finished the supports on the lift. Although, those will probably get changed as the track will likely pass under the lift.

Or I could follow suit and be a total dick like richie and tell you this - hell yeah I'm done.

Edit: @highthrills - what you said about Kingda Ka's launch being slightly angled upwards was what I was getting at a while back. However, this doesn't apply to me as I've put enough work into my lift to scrap it.

Im using Kyle's Tsunami env which i guess might work well enough... but the cable looks a little funny on the slope up and the env also has no chain dogs for the lift

I might make my cable lift, but then again i might not considering it could take quite a while when I have other scenery to do....

This is the longest ive ever worked on the track itself...hope its worth it. is kyle's env supposed to loop because i see it as an elevator cable when the cable file suggests a long, single cable.

Respectfully bowing out of the comp. Too many other things like MW3, Skyrim and my current coaster project will keep me from being able to complete this in time.

Good Luck to all contestants, can't wait to see what you guys create.

Thank you.
