I noticed two of the best shooting games ever to come out recently but I don't know which one is the best one. Anybody knows? That's like comparing SM2 and NL2 together when they come out.
MW3's hit box detection is crap. More than one person on my facebook has said it and now Im seeing videos popping up with pretty good evidence that theres serious issues.
I didn't buy MW3 because I technically had already played it...I played MW2 and MW1 lol (I didn't even buy WaW or Black Ops, and it was already stale). Funny thing is (though not surprising), EVERYONE plays CoD. Even the football players, who have like 2 sports games and then get every CoD that comes out. They tell everyone that BF3 is a waste of money and that the online sucked. lolwut
So I bought it because I knew better. I was taking a little bit of a gamble since I had no demo or any prior series games to base my decision off of. So I was like fuggit, gettin' a game on balls only.
Booted it up. Played amazing Campaign. Started playing online, sucked at first. But I kept going until I actually got a decent gun (M4). Now the game is like <3333.
Seriously blows CoD out of the water. Huge maps, TONS more weapons, vehicles like planes and tanks (which a Halo fan like me really loves), awesome shooting, and heavy focus on objective gametypes (my favorite kinds). Then there's the glorious destruction, which I'm sure is a bit worse than the PC version, but God it makes the maps change so much and make everything exciting. Then there's the sound...dear God. The sound of a rocket screaming past your head is legitimately frightening and thrilling. Big explosions, everything.
I can't stop playing it. I can't even imagine trading this in for CoD, even if you payed me. So glad I got it.
Its because the football players have ADD. If the action doesnt happen non-stop the entire game - its no fun. I get it. BF3 requires patience. But the payoffs are WAY better.
Like this sniping battle I just had with 2 guys. They thought they could outwit me, try to flank me. I pulled off a miraculous headshot on the one and reloaded, scanned the area and found the other trying to poke out a building. Boom. Headshot.
Or the guy I hit from 375m while he was in a full sprint. That was awesome. But the sniping battle went on the whole match. I kept spotting people and vehicles while trying to find these 2 guys who were trying to take me down. You'd never get that in COD, ever.
COD is basically Quake3 skinned over to be modern combat. I loved MW1 and 2 but it got repetitive and old. I had done everything. Multiple times. Just wasnt nearly as diverse.
So far my longest headshot is 520m or so. Half a kilometer. Definitely yelled at the tv when I got that.
The diversity of the gameplay is what brings me back.
But yeah, I agree with you Real. The other big thing I like is that dying actually MATTERS lol. If you die, you have to wait to respawn for a while, then typically deploy way back or somewhere that takes a while to walk where you want because the maps are so huge. I love games that make death more strategic...I refer back to Halo because I think it does take a little while to respawn and move somewhere again, especially if it's CTF and if it's a big map.
Since death is more tragic, you avoid it more. Which automatically makes you less carefree and more serious. You don't just run places, and when you do kill like 3 people that had just discovered you and were firing at you in the long tunnel on Damavand Peak (like me), it totally makes you happy. You feel amazing lol.
It's just such a fulfilling game for me. I desperately need more every day lol.
Since I got both games,Rage and BF 3 I guess I can give you a good answer.Rage is nice but even for me as Postapocalyptic fan its not worth the money.Plus the most unspectacualr video game ending I've ever seen.
Its a nice game but it can't measure up with BF3
BF3 is very fun to play, has a nice campaign and the multiplayer is fantastic.Deffo worth the bucks.Nuff' said.
I know one thing Crysis 1 and 2 would be another great alterative to Battlefield 3 and maybe Rage as far a gameplay and graphic wise but then again maybe I could be wrong.
^^I got Crysis 2 for Xbox. It was pretty good, but not the best. I still played it for a while though. It might have a little to do with it's PC nature though as well. I'm considering getting Crysis 1 for the Games on Demand so I can play the first one...it almost looks like a better campaign I think.
Crysis 2, hands down. It's easy to notice immediately that C2 has more detail and polish then BF3. That's not to say that BF3 isn't gorgeous, but it does not push the hardware quite to the same level as Crysis 2. But with that said, I think both utilize directx 11, yes? So the only real way to get these gorgeous results is by having your PC up to the latest hardware standards. consoles can not possibly look that gorgeous as the hardware is only capable of direct x9 features.
I don't know about that comparison. Crysis always had this fake look to the texturing and lighting. It made it more dramatic and things shinier, etc but it wasn't what looked photo-realistic. BF3 has been one of the most photo realistic games I've ever seen. Whether or not they created that with more or less polygons to me isn't what makes it a winner or not. Its the final product.
Like Crysis also blows out highlights and crushes the blacks (not racist...video term) and creates that futuristic, apocalyptic look. I've felt so far that BF3 feels more immersive.
That's just me. Its not exactly something you can quantify from a factual point of view unless we just talk about the number of polygons in each scene and MB of textures being pushed and all that jazz. But just because you have more doesn't make it look better.
