Parts are similar...but it's not like the standard SLC's and then the SLC's with the helix at the end where like ONE thing is different...they do similar maneuvers but they are too different to be considered clones.

^ Exactly. And six flags will DEFINETALY clone x flight. .I just have a feeling. Also that is what the six flags company does instead of making their own designs.

WE dont need any more coaster honestly, what we need are flat rides, a frisbee maybe, or a legitimate drop tower, something along those lines,

So what. Again, its not a clone to anyone who doesn't know what rcdb is.

So what? We know what rcdb is and are talking about it regardless because it's entertaining to talk about. What's your point?

His point is almost nobody in the target demographic will care that it's a clone.

Yeah, but that's not at all what is being discussed at this point in conversation. Whether or not the ride will be cloned was being discussed.

Xflight has yet to open and it remains to be seen how more winged coasters will fit into Six Flag's strategy, or how future xflight clones will fit into the other Six Flags property. It might end up like all the B&M hypers that sprung up a couple of years ago. They'll end up being similar, but different. Of course, you are always free to speculate. I myself do not see it being cloned. I could see a couple more spring up with similar elements and attributes.

Yeah coolbeans says it all. I think (like most X-Flight coasters now, give W.E.), they'll probably have those barrel rolls, the in-line twists, a good percentage of them will probably have the diving drop... I mean, even so, Six Flags probably won't get more than 3 or 4 of them, including X-Flight, so that means there will most likely be variation between them.

That is if SF decides to clone them, which I think would be a good idea on their part. I'm sure the General Public think godly thoughts of the originality of those rides haha.

You guys need to enjoy Green Lantern. Six Flags Great America didnt have a great roller coaster for 8 years, so don't expect to get another big roller coaster this year.

And as mentioned before: 3 family/medium coasters (good ones at that), and a giant waterpark....

Simba, the title of the thread, which is only in its second page, is "what should SFGA get next year?" Some people said X Flight will be cloned, others said it shouldn't, and a couple others, myself included, said nobody who matters will care that it's cloned. How is that not a logical progression of the discussion?

What Great America got is only partially relevant. Great Adventure is part of the same company, but is in a completely different demographic. It has gotten coasters in a different frequency over the years, so because of that I wouldn't expect Great Adventure would have to wait X number of years just because Great America did.

It's not about waiting just to wait, or building a coaster to have another coaster...it's about finding the best time to capitalize on a large investment.

Yes, I understand that. Trust me, I think it's bs that SFGAdv should get a new "out of the box" coaster every other year, as I'm from Dorney where we are very much towards the bottom of the Cedar Fair food chain. However, that wasn't my point in saying that. I realize that nobody gives half a poop about "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all," but it's hardly necessary to patronize a kid for talking about whether or not something will be cloned. I'm not even saying if it's bad or good that it may or may not be cloned - I don't care either way, and I know that the industry is based off of the correct amount of investment in certain areas to get the best crowds in. But that's not what he quoted CoasterHero as saying - he just quoted CoasterHero saying that he thinks X-Flight will be cloned. I'm all for throwing reason into a conversation that's become increasingly unrealistic, but the way he put it, it seemed like "what is the point of talking about this?"
I realize this argument is getting a little long in the tooth, so I'll just say this - it pisses me off when people put other people down unnecessarily. Reeming out a troll is one thing, but being a dick during a normal conversation where the discussion is tame makes you seem like that - a dick. I already voiced my opinion about the topic at hand; I don't even agree with the topic. It's the principle of his action that pissed me off.

Whats the point of talking about this can sum up pretty much all coaster topics these days. You guys come and go every year, someone will be here to replace you next year when you lose interest, but know that what your discussing isn't new. I'm sure this same topic was already discussed in 2004 about a different ride, hence it's getting old. The 15 year olds who constantly berate Six Flags for decisions like cloned rides just annoy the hell out of me. Obviously as a 15 year old who goes on RCDB you know far more than the heads of a multi billion dollar enterprise that cloning a ride is a bad idea or worth talking about in negative light.

As soon as people around here start to get at least somewhat practical, I will stop being a dick. But until then, these topics that spring up every 6 months by someone new who replaced the last person to bring it up will get negativity from me.

Like this:
You could be Great America, where the last good ride we got was in 1999.....

Who is he to decide what the last good ride the park got is? As one of maybe 2000 enthusiasts who visit the park a year, and don't even spend money (season pass), his opinion of such things is actually nonsense. Enthusiasts hate Superman Ultimate Flight, but they are nobody, and the 3 hour line it had by the general public when I went said otherwise. The 3 million people who visit the park maybe twice a year and actually spend money outweigh the few who visit the park every day but don't spend money and think they're 'in the know'. I would say Six Flags would call that a good ride based on it's popularity and success at three parks.

But no, they just cloned it to piss you guys off and cause they're stupid, right?
