This is one I've been planning for a while now, and so far I've got about half the track done. Unfortunately the timing isn't working out as I planned for the next collision, so unless I find a slightly different layout for it these might never get finished. But I just felt like sharing what I've got so far. As always, any comments very welcome.

Newton is great for this because you can build the track so the train passes through a certain time zone at the same time the other train does. The colors and elements look sick so far tho!

When I saw the title I was like oh, that should be neat. Then I saw you were the author and I got way more excited. This thing has the potential to be amazing. The two pics you've shown both look really nice. And I love the colors. Light blue and bright green have always been two of my favorite colors to pair together.

If you were trying to name this coaster after your favorite designer you used a couple of incorrect letters...

The second interaction looks like it will be absolutely incredible to ride, not to mention watch...good luck with this! And while, in theory, newton/FVD seems like a good idea for a dueling coaster, the fact that you can't really see the other layout easily makes it a pain in the ass. I tried to make a dueling intamin called "Heaven and hell" but it got about 2/3 the way done and I gave up because it was too tedious.

^^I read it Symbiotic - Dueling B&M Floorless and got sooooo excited lol... I'm not disappointed, but a Symbiotic ride wouldn't be bad either heh...

This looks promising Wing-Over, I hope the timing ends up working out. I like the colors except for the green one =P I think yellow would suit the blue accompaniment better.

I'm already seeing some newton references (transition into the hill/drop on the blue side), but I really like what I'm seeing so far. I can't say if I like the shaping on the sea serpent, but I'll reserve my opinions until more progress is made. Keep it up, dude!

Yeah I have to agree with A113. That hill through the loop doesn't look like it has a very good transition. The colors and interactions are top notch though!

Thanks for the great comments, it gives me much more inspiration to try and finish this.

With regards to the shaping, I'll admit I haven't spent a huge amount of time making it feel un-newton like yet, but this is just a first draft to see if the layout and interatctions are plausible with roughly the right shape. I'll get a few people to test it later and find where it needs most work.

^It's just the typical Newton-ized unbanking as it climbs steeper and steeper and then clicks into the crest. I can see it too, and I agree.

Although I like the idea of that dueling encounter W-Over, so I think keep it, because it doesn't look very bad.. The perpendicular encounter on Dueling Dragons (zero-g roll under straight hill) proved very scary and uncertain, more so than the loops. So I think this will throw out an effective scare for those holding their hands up.

Ive seen that on real rides, whats the problem? Looks extremely similar to the transition on Superman from Parque Warner. I think Superman's unbanks maybe another 10ft longer but hes not re-creating that.

I think that screenshot makes the transition look more abrupt than it really is. The closest example I can think of is Intimidator at Carowinds, from other angles it looks and rides very similarly to this:

I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's far from a generic quintic transition and it doesn't feel terribly newtony. I've made plenty of almost identical transitions long before newton or even fvd existed.

Update: Layout has been successfully designed, and after many failed element sequences in between both the other collisions I wanted work beautifully. Next step, re doing all the track work to a better standard now I know the layout is plausible.

The timing on the final collision is still about 0.1s off, but that can easily be fixed with a few hours of tweaking which isn't worth doing on a first draft. So I'll keep that one as a surprise for later. [;)]

watching this makes me want to make a similar coaster...as does every coaster that makes a hot topic on CC.

Definately have the blue coasters roll rotate in the opposite direction with the final coarse. It would feel more like the track is rolling around the hill below it.

^ That's how I had it originally, and I'm still torn between the two. I went for this one because you are more exposed to the oncoming train since it's approaching from above you rather than below, and its more unexpected to roll this way. Although I could have the trains slightly closer with the other direction by having a slight lateral shift during the roll, and it feels more natural. I'm undecided, both directions have merits, anyone else have any opinions?

I agree with Kyle- I think a roll to the left with the slight lateral movement would look and work better :/
