I guess I don't like people to know that I like Broadway music (Cats, Phantom of the Oprea, Joseph and the Amazing Techincolor Dream Coat). Most people I know can't stand that music...

Now that that secrets out... we can talk about my name...

Kev, do you play any of the bluegrass genre instruments?

No, I can't play any instruments. Just like to listen to it every now and then.

The Little Maggie version i'm thinking about isn't sung by Ricky Skaggs. I just did a google search and found that the version i'm thinking about was played by the Stanley Brothers.

Bluegrass; I play in a band on fiddle and fell in love with the stuff.

Cool! Another bluegrass listener. It's funny, I love bluegrass, but don't really like country music so much. My favorite bluegrass song is "little maggie"...can't remember who sings it though.

Oh, and cjd, just ignore what people say. I'm not a backstreet boys fan, but I will admit that they have one song that sticks in my head for days after hearing it. I believe it's called "I want it that way"...dammit! now that i've mentioned it, i'll likely be humming it all night. [lol]

i have an album by the scruggs brothers, sons of earl scruggs, from 1971 and they do a version of little maggie. i also have a version on a folk compilation record from the early 60's that has a version of it but i can't remember who...

Any guy who listens to Backstreet Boys is gay.
[lol] [;)]

Music I'm ashamed to admit I listen to would be this rap song where they like ripped off Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne. I thin it's by "Trick Daddy" or something. I heard it while hammered at the bar and then downloaded it that night.

Um, what else... I have a "hootie and the blowfish" cd... I got that like 10 years ago though so I'm not really ashamed, since I was young and stupid when I aquired it. There's a few songs that I have kicking around that I don't know where they came from. I have some Bon Jovi here that I like.

Nope, I can't say I have anything that I'm really weirded out by. There's some stuff I don't normally listen to, but I downloaded it in High School when I would make CDs for friends. But it's still not that weird, just stuff by bands like Kansas, Harry Chapin, Derek and Dominoes (Layla is a great song by them...) and so on.

Not really ashamed, but I do not talk about them much: Chicago, Air Supply, and Kenny Rogers

Air Supply is awesome. "I'M ALL OUT OF LOVE, I'M SO LOST WITHOUT YOU, I KNOW YOU WERE RIGHT, BELIEVING FOR SO LONG, I'M ALL OUT OF LOVE, WHAT AM I WITHOUT YOU, I CAN'T BE TOO LATE TO SAY THAT I WAS SO WRONG..."

hahaha, I heard that in a movie, I think it was Out Cold... I had to find out who it was by. Then I heard it again in Van Wilder. Good stuff.

That was Lil' Jon. He also ripped off Raining Blood by Slayer! Used the exact same recording of it in "his" version, too. [:(!]

I also don't mind some of it... but thats because of the sweet riffs. The rap love the music up and sounds like poop in my opinion.

I already admitted to listening to Backstreet Boys. I'm usually not very open about it, because all the f**ktards I tell start calling me 'gay'. Give me a break... girls are allowed to listen to Britney Spears without being lesbians, so why aren't guys allowed to listen to Backstreet without being gay? I can't stand the steriotype that girls are supposed to listen to pop, and guys are supposed to listen to hardcore rock. Give me a break. Steriotypes are complete bulls**t.

Seriously, listen to any sort of music you want and DO NOT BE SHY/ASHAMED. Please remain completely unaffected by what other people say and think, coz stereotypes should be abolished ASAP!!

You can't exactly be ashamed to admit it if you're proclaiming it online for all the world to read.

If by "Music that you like, but are ashamed to admit", you mean "music videos that you watch on youtube on mute because you're a sad bastard and the 17 year old skank in the video is a fine example of your (not so) secretly favourite type of female", then;

Dirty skank, awful music... but... dayum.

Dude, that hair style pulling it all to the side is disgusting. Its like a trainwreck. It looks like something where they shaved her right side then parted it to the left. Its absolutely terrible!

I suppose its ok if a guy does it, but omg its so distracting if there was anything else to like about her there no way I could see it.

Its like a troll just took up residence on her head. Imagine how distracting that would be is CWKid was on her head? That's how distracting that is. lol.

Go back to Avril, better choice, lol.

Avril Lavigne is currently, and has been, awful for some time....possibly from birth.

Kylie Minogue, on the other hand, is permanently fabulous.

Ew.

And I know Gouldy likes her, so I was just referring to the fact that shes easier to look at than the girl in that video.

That is an horrendous statement! Take it back! [lol]

In all seriousness, I wish there wasn't this whole commercial pop princessy type bullshit that she and her label have surrounded her with, because if you give her a microphone and an acoustic guitar, she is actually an ubelievably talented girl. Her talents are far greater than that of most people, and certainly far greater than most people would give her credit for, thanks to the afore mentioned pop princess bullshit. But that talent sort of this doesn't really appeal to the masses and so that side of her ability is completely ignored. I have plenty of videos of Avril doing what she does very best, and that is; sitting on a chair, playing a guitar, singing. I can fully understand why most people couldn't take her as a serious artist though, given the stuff that she makes that gets it into the wider public domain...

Magma
Gong
Happy the Man
Steve Hillage
Daevid Allen
Tangerine Dream
Wendy Carlos
Larry Fast
Steve Roach
Genesis

Wow that's really amazing we both like the same kind of music others don't get into that much. We both enjoy the kind of music we hear and that's for sure[:)]

Oh yes thanks and Hawkwind I still listen to also. Real good music.
