Good man, personally I'm into most metal and hard rock as well as some classic rock. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Anthrax, Slayer and the likes.

I'm waging a war against people who jumped on the band wagon of dubstep and made it into electro house. AKA Skrillex, DatsiK, Excision (You know, americans.) I'm quite curious as to why you all dislike dubstep.

What Mala did to garage was genius. What Skrillex is doing to dubstep is ****ing stupid.

I'm proud of myself for having no idea who any of the artists are you mentioned.

And I hate it because it because the bass sounds like two fat people who are somehow able to have sex fast enough that are thumping against every wall in my house with some horrible high pitched "thing" bouncing around it they're trying to call music.

This poop has probably been around since the late 90's and it flat out refuses to die.

Basically, you know how bigot rock (whoops I mean christian rock) all sounds the same and starts off inherently terrible because every bigot rock band wants to be the "Jesusly [group name here]"? Dubstep is like bigot rock, except it's targeted towards a group of just as dumb people on the opposite end of the spectrum. Bigot rock and dubstep have a similar "retardation aura" surrounding them at all times. There isn't any variety in it at all and it all sounds like predictable death.

Another example of the "stupid aura" phenomenon that applies to dubstep actually is how lots of Weird Al's music ends up better than lots of the rap songs he covers because he can actually sing. All rappers rely on autotune and other poop to accomplish the same task, so when Weird Al does it it just ends up sounding much better because the filter is significantly subdued. The link below is sung better than the original and is a good example of this. If want an example of him poking fun at rock he has a song called "CNR" where he is spoofing the White Stripes. His Jack White impression is pretty damned good but it doesn't sound better than him because jac can actually play instruments and sing.

Also how do you play this poop live in a concert? Hit the play button at the right time on your Macbook Pro?

I still want the vinyl with the crushed penny, but this will do for now.

Listening to Grails - Deep Politics right now, having never heard them outside of on a DVD I have (Blood Sweat + Vinyl, buy it, it's amazing) but they're pretty good. A little mellow compared to what I was expecting but good none the less. The production is amazing, it sounds like they're playing in my room.

This was on a new eave/punk comp, not just Costello....With Sex Pistols, Ramones, Clash, etc. I'm guessing it was from the early-mid 90s and I had it in the very early 2000s. I know my mom got it for me at a yardsale or something like that lol.

I actually like his new 'country'ish stuff...He has done a lot of different things but always has a distinctive sound which I like.

Ambient & IDM. See Hecq, who is a perfect combo for these genres.

That song is awful.

I personally am into Ska music. For those who don't know, it's basically a mix of reggae, rock, jazz, and punk. You could also describe it as rock music with brass instruments included. Most ska songs are upbeat and quick moving, with the guitar playing off-beat upstrokes and a walking bassline accompanying the horn sections. A good ska band is Reel Big Fish, them being one of the most well-known ska bands out there.
