It will get passed because it doesn't make any sense.

if im right, the bill violates some of the bill of rights, so there for if it is passed, we can all appeal to the supreme court on those grounds and have it revoked, or the president can not let it pass..

but i dont think it will go through, due to the uprising of people protesting it..

Lets be honest here, It's going to be passed, the RIAA, and government are stubborn as poop, and no amount of protests or petition, or logical arguments are going to change their minds.

The HPV+cervical cancer vaccine shows dumb fat white christians in charge will ruin everything they can no matter what the cost of people around them.

They don't know the difference between an IP address and a URL and they're voting on this.

It'll pass. Prepare yourself for it.

I think it might be close, but in the end I think it won't pass. There is too much opposition and controversy I think. There is the chance that it will though, and it's a pretty decent chance.

There has been talk of the so-called "dark-net" that would be the product of the aftermath though. Anonymous is already planning on a sort of "underground Internet" that would be more inconvenient (i.e: you have to put in IPs instead of URLs or something), but it would in essence be the Internet that was lost.

I wish I could find/remember the article I got this from, but either way, it's basically tall-tale speculation anyway. Would be badass if that were to work though.

There is an implication, here, that the deep web doesn't already exist? That is what I was alluding to with my comment in the other thread. No one country can control what the people in its country can view on the internet, short of physically cutting all cables/satellite connections with the rest of the world.

If this does pass, there is a pretty user friendly way to almost completely protect your anonymity, using Tor ( https://www.torproject.org/ ). There are better ways of doing this, and whether or not this will entirely negate whatever the American government is going to implement, is yet to be seen. However, like I say, this is a pretty user friendly way to remain completely anonymous online. If you're not particularly up on manually browsing the deep web, I would download Tor and learn how to use it, now, before this passes - in the hope it will negate the governments planned "blockade". It might just be worth a try, just in case this does pass.

I'm hoping, obviously, that this doesn't pass. But, as CKMWM pointed out, your goverment is a collective retard.

Good luck, America.

Yes, it will. If you recall, mxtabs was shutdown for a while for this EXACT reason.

if this goes through
i will move to another country
the usa is now just a laughing stock
and to be honest i rather live on a island away from everyone, and the fat white Christan is the reason our country is so stupid and broke, they think if itsnt godly it should go through
and face it, tech people like me will always find a way through the internet to get what we want. no government can stop that

and i dont think it will get passed due to it violating our freedom to speech, press, and alot of other stuff, all it takes is for one petition to float out n appear before the supreme court as a appeal to the bill saying it violates our rights and good bye bill

How old are you? No, seriously. Because this sounds like a 12 year old wrote it.

Why? Everyone in charge isn't going to care since I'm sure they've already transferred their stock around so they don't lose any money from the bill.

If it passes, there will be revolting. The US government is gonna love themselves over if this passes.

I've already written to my local state rep.

Obama has already said he won't sign either bill in their current form. Also, as far as I know, SOPA is currently on hold; PIPA is the bill that's actually in danger of being passed in the near future. I think enough of these guys will come to their senses in the next couple weeks, but it's still pretty scary that these bills have been taken seriously for as long as they have.

Every country should start a war with the USA if they pass this. They try to clain something that is NOT theirs. Every person who actualy wants this bill to be passed may, imho, be shot on sight.

^^ Just a tad too radical there. Nevermind, way too radical, world war 3 over the internet?
What are these for?

That did a ton of good during the Vietnam draft.
