I think this is the first time i will be able to ride a coaster in its opening year, well its original opening year anyway so possesed & stinger won't count.

This ride looks epic though, and actually i think its perfectly placed because it represents the golden age of coasters and the new-gen side by side
What are these for?

I think the lift is listed as being 50*. It looks steeper because of the angle.

Oh dingbat nice, I remember when I turned 13.

I like that it's all a bunch of big stacked I-beams. Looks constructive and rugged and intimidating.

Yes, Gerstl. The cars have a winged design.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

It's basically a B&M hyper train except there is no floor under the two outside seats.

The airtime throughout this layout will be amazing considering the height difference between the lift and the rest of the layout! Cannot wait to ride this beast!

The hills can still be drawn out, regardless of their height.

This looks better and better every time I check back on it, I'll have to try to get back to Hershey some time soon. I have to say that I love the "suspension bridge" rig that they used to hold up the cantilevered part of the lift before it was topped off.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the rig.
I may be wrong but thats not the track itself just the structure right?
What are these for?

^Yeah, this is the truss and the two-rail track will be installed later this week.

Thing is, they aren't being drawn out. It's crammed in a pretty small spot for a hyper, and though the second hill might not have the world's tightest crest, it's 80ft tall while the drop is 200ft. You're gonna fly through the entire course.

They make sure it is drawn out enough to be safe... probably. Otherwise, it wouldn't be safe.
It's been a long time

I think this should be used in the future as an actual support structure. For example when a coaster needs to get across a road or valley like Ravine Flyer II

I think the only reason they used it here was because of the temporary cantilever; if you had a bridge I'm sure it would be cheaper to just make a truss big enough to carry the load.

Except it isn't THAT crammed. These hills are going diagonally along a relatively long plot of land (and water). Considering what I have seen from Formula Rossa, these have a good chance of being floater. No, it won't drag speed wise, but I'm not too sure we are going to see much ejector air.

It will be some serious airtime trust me. It will be somewhere between floater and ejector, my personal favorite.

^Yeah, I think the only hill that will have floater-esque airtime is the first one, and it will probably be more powerful still. It will just be sustained...

Floater to me says 0G, and ejector says significantly less than that. Doesn't matter how long it's sustained. You will be above your seat for the duration, but you will definitely feel the force in your thighs (and hopefully not shoulders!). I've tried it myself...that hill height on a primarily unbanked hill in that footprint can't produce 0G airtime.

So what's this I hear about drawn out hills having floater?
