I was never big into the Kyuss/desert rock thing. I love stoner metal but that stuff goes too fast/hard rock for me. I'm not a big fan of High On Fire either. The slow sludgey stuff is where it's at.

RUSH! and a lot of 80s pop especially the song '99 Luftballons! I memorized the whole song (in German). That's pretty impressive for someone who only speaks French and English. I do like almost all music if it's good though :)

One thing else. Dubstep is alien transmissions! When the aliens put dubstep in our brains and make us stupid they will take over the world and enslave the human race! Boycott dubstep with me! Skrillex is an alien!

What are these for?

Most electronic house/dubstep/electro producers have a stage name. Not necessarily a band...sometimes a duo if it's something like Daft Punk but they are usually solo artists.

I like that call themselves producers, its like they openly admit they're not real musicians
What are these for?

^^Well, do you really think there is a performance aspect to electronic? Unless you're DJing, there's nothing to it. It's literally booting it up, playing it, and using some live stuff that's pretty simplistic. One guy can't play that music straight live, for one because there's too much going on. But even with more people, there's no point. I mean, there is no purpose in starting from scratch, taking a few minutes to recreate the instruments you made yourself in the studio (which would also mean lugging a huge wall of hardware junk...unless you're Skrillex), then fabricating all of the effects and waveforms and LFO's and whatevs that are to be used, playing it on a keyboard, and using the knobs to apply the effects. Almost all of that time would just be "setting it up", not really performing. It's the nature of electronic music...more simplistic melodies than other genres (in most cases, not all) but a heavier focus on the sounds...sounds that can't be made in any other genre. Unfortunately, a lot of those sounds are pointless, stupid, or pointless. But there are artists that do create very interesting and actually musical stuff with electronics.

The only performance aspect to electronic is DJing, which is not much anyway. At least Daft Punk typically DJ's their own music, so they sort-of do the producing and the performing in that they make the two tracks, DJ them, and make something pretty different out of it. Other than that, it's just taking somebody else's stuff and mixing them together. It definitely falls short on performance than other genres. But the key thing is electronic doesn't revolve around performances. If it did, people would be making apparatuses that allow them to "perform" the parts. However, since unfortunately most electronic fans are mindless drunk retards, nobody gives a poop in the end anyway.

If I want performance, I'll go see a band. Simple as that. Unless all you like is electronic, there shouldn't be a problem in finding someone that uses real instruments to play that you like.

Seen both Mount Kimbie and SBTRKT last year. Easy 2 of the best live acts ever.

How 'live edm performances' should be. Skrillex should get some skill and learn to do something other than press the space bar and use a sample pad with some effects at the end of every bar. Hurrrdef**kingdurrr listen to some real dubstep.

Even you cannot possibly be this stupid. Be more subtle in your troll bait. For example claiming to be the biggest fan of Maroon 5 would work and be way more believable.

My inclination toward music is actually really wide and there is no single genre I go for. I love listening to David Guetta though Adele's music is also the type I could put on repeat for quite a while.

I used to rave about Katy Perry's songs as well but she seems to have run out of new songs/singles, but that is negligible considering that she just recently capped of her world tour.
