I remember once upon a time this site held a weekly contest where the top 3 coasters of the week were given Gold Silver & Bronze medals respectively. That would show a good designer who has won a nice award with his coaster, why did you get rid of that? I loved weekly contests as they were also great for winning slappin' points. Then they just stopped, I miss the weekly contest it was something cool, fun and unique for CoasterCrazy. Staff you really ought to bring that back.

Also one thing I always wondered, what qualifies a design as a "cool design" because it seems like the last time that a new coaster was added to that category was in 2008. How does a design qaulify to be placed in that elite category? And why haven't there been any for so long? I really want these two cool CoasterCrazy fun details back. Is anyone (Staff included) with me? I hope so.
YES!

I am going to break this response down into two parts. One for the Weekly Awards, the second for the Cool Designs.

1. For the weekly awards a track needs a minimum of three (3) valid rates a week. They haven't been updated in quite sometime yet for one reason or another. Most common reason(s) is(are) that there are not enough rates and/or they are not valid.

2. I think the Cool Designs are going to be something like an awards show that happens once every year or so from now on. I'll see if we can do a cool thing for the "Cool Designs - Class of 2012" which might happen soon.

Thanks for asking. Hope this helps.

I have to take responsibility for there not being the weekly awards for issues happening in RL. I have caught up today and all medals have been awarded. I have not made a thread about winners and do not intend to. If the site really wants a list I will compile one.

As for the cool awards I like Tetsu's thinking but think we need a 2011 round up and maybe a 2010 before we head into this year.

On another note, please reduce the size of your avatar Roadrunner as that is a bit to big really.

No one rates so it's hard to be motivated to post anything...

I don't disagree Gav. Lets talk about the best way to do that later.

As for Roadrunner's avater, its long vertically yes, but its not as crazy big as others we have seen. Plus its not streaching the forum much. I vote to allow him to have it. /off topic

i would love to have a weekly contest, that you have one week to post the track up or to a email account, and then a week for judging,

and make it once every 2 months, and change up the track n the boundaries and rules and such
