And, here is the actual website: http://www.kony2012.com

Absolutely amazing movement going on via the internet. Any other supporters, or anybody who's seen this with any opinions on it?

So now that the NYPD threw away all the hipsters tents and generators at Occupy Wall Street, they're going to war with African Rebels via putting up posters instead?

Tax cuts in addition to more jesus would also fix the problem

It's obvious that people just aren't praying to Jesus enough. And you know that if something's not doing anything, the best thing to do is to do it more and harder.

Needless to say, there should not be this much laughter occurring in this topic... but there is a lot of pointless and delayed publicizing going on from the Invisible Children organization... ok, Kony has been doing this kind of poop since 1986, and the only difference now is that the Facebook generation has been thickly exposed to Kony's activity.

So stupid... so Facebook blows up every hour with videos and statuses about Kony, thanks to Invisible Children's juvenile 'exposing' of him. It's just annoying now. Sure, the awareness is an important component to stopping his ass, but teenagers aren't going to do anything about this situation other than SHARE-POST-REPOST-RETWEET videos about it...

Thank you.

*Yes and of course he probably has weeks to remain a free/living man now that the planet is ganging up on him.

Well, the thing about SHARE_POST_REPOST_RETWEET is that eventually it will reach someone with a direct connection to either a senator, a congressman, or even the president. And if it's not a direct connection, it'll be someone who is will to make said connection to get poop done. In this day and age, it's not as much about making poop happen as making said poop visible to the entire world, which is exactly what invisible children is doing. With damn near a billion people on Facebook, it'll eventually (in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it already has) reached the entire community, and that sort of awareness means that someone, somewhere will have a way to make poop happen. that's IC's goal - not get every hooligan out there doing what needs done. Just to get other hooligans aware of the fact that something needs done, and eventually it will reach a non-hooligan. that's my 2 cents.

Yeah that's the legitimate factor, as well as Invisible Children's goal primarily, but I'm noticing that their method of propaganda is leading to ignorance in some cases.

A lot of people seem to have mistaken understandings of the entire situation after this campaign.

Try not to forget that any given senator, congressman, and the president would certainly already be aware of the circumstances in Africa.

The only people who weren't aware are the teen-aged generation that the Kony videos have reached. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, and it probably is for the better eventually, but it's annoying and clearly misleading...

You know that European organizations and some global agreeing organization warranted Kony's arrest years ago, and that he has been under pursuit for a long time? The main misunderstanding is that this has just been unveiled for the world to see... People have been trying to do things to stop him for a decade almost, damn. If there's one thing that the IC campaign could be doing better, it is to more structurally educate on the situation and its history. Yes they are successfully spreading the news, but in the end it is just another mainstream misunderstanding.

As long as we're going after people who haven't been seen in 6 ears we might as well bring Elvis back from the dead. And also this is stuff thats in high school history so honestly people DO know about it, its just the out of sight out of mind tactics we user. I just don't see the point of "raising" awareness about a guy that might even be dead already
What are these for?

*Republicans won't care because it involves jesus and anything involving jesus is okay (What's women's rights USA?)
*Keep in mind the church has no problem authorizing someone who lead an army responsible for thousands of deaths and used to eat children in as a preacher.

If anyone remembers "DEY EAT DA POOPOO", that was your tax dollars at work in Uganda courtesy of Bush so I don't see them accomplishing anything regarding this topic on any level. When you get to the bottom of it we're indirectly funding genocide and the southern senators were having dinner parties with this guy (Ugandan president) and praising the "family values" of the guy.

Summary:
They won't do poop because this doesn't involve their specific little sect of christian imaginary friend in the sky so that means they can just sweep it under the rug and pretend it isn't happening like all christians do. Yes I made this a religion discussion and that's entirely because this problem is so deal with it.

All this can clearly be fixed with more jesus, less contraceptives, and tax cuts.

Also, here's an article by the founders of Invisible Children in response to all the critics and the most common questions they've been hearing:

Definitely worth a read, at least!

I cried, because I'm a baby like that. Back during junior year of 2007 I had a group of friends involved with Invisible Children & they sold shirts for $10 supporting the cause. There was a quote, which is said in the video, "Where you live, should not determine whether you live." It also gives the life expectancy & literacy rates in the shape of the state you bought them in.

This is a sad tragic thing, & it's sad that it has taken this long to come to light to a lot of people. But with the help of Facebook & Twitter, the word should get out & Kony shall be captured & prosecuted for the crimes he has committed for so long.

Should you care? Maybe. Do you have to donate? No. But this should give you a huge look at our easy your lives really are. There's people that bitch about the stupidest things, while these kids are afraid of being kidnapped in the middle of the night & forced to murder their parents. I don't think people should ever stop caring about other peoples well being.

Yes the US gets involved with a lot of other countries problems, but we're the only ones that do pretty much. Everyone can do something to help. Hell, go to the website & donate a freaking dollar, it's really not that hard to give a miniscule percent of your paycheck.

^Very solid post dude. And I don't think any intelligent person could possibly dislike the fact that outside countries, like ourselves, interfere and take action in a circumstance like this. Maybe wars and occupations involving other countries have reasons to be opposed by citizens in the U.S. but seriously..... Obviously this is going to require interference to be halted.

Bullshit.

People have known about this for years but nobody cares because it involves mainstream jesus people. When you point out they're doing something wrong they throw a hissy fit, make up some BS to justify it, and then throw the issue under the rug.

Just watch Rick Santorum speak. He has NO grasp of reality.

He said -a lot of people- and he is right. Many people had no idea this was happening.

But you're right about the second thing yeah.

I'm just failing to understand the surprise reaction everyone has because something like this pops up on the news at least once a month regarding the jesus people to ridiculous things in Africa and the UN repeatedly has meetings about it.
