Last year seemed a little bit frantic trying to set everything up at the last minute and making all kinds of rule changes late in the contest. In order to avoid this, I'm starting the poll about a month and a half earlier this year. What kind of contest should we have this year?

For the sake of interest, I would prefer that parks do not go past 125*125. Anything larger would be too long and challenging to work with.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

Yeah, I would even say smaller than that. I voted for small park because I can just imagine how many drop outs and half assed, rushed parks would end up being submitted.

Exactly my thinking.

I like the small park idea. I like making small, compact parks as I usually am one of those who tends to lose interest if I'm making a large park.

I think a Micro-Park challenge would be cool. Either being a super-small plot of land for a coaster and two rides or another type of challenge that involves a "stacked" amusement park or other means of creative tight-space solutions.

Seeing as a micro-park was done last year, this year should probably be the small or medium sized. That's just my own thoughts, though. Still, a 5x5 park challenge could end up interesting (Super-Micro!)

Honestly I think the last contest's template was just about right.

I think a 20x20 would be cool lol. Like, even smaller than last year's.

So, if I were to make a new template based on last year's, what would you like to see?

^Isengard.

In a more serious sense, I think a cliffside or mine setting would be an interesting site.

I'll look into it. I like the idea of a cliff side. Opens up opportunity for some custom scenery options!

If we end up with a cliff, just don't make it too high so that some cool coaster types can't be built because the location is "too high for supports" ... as connecting the supports to the cliff using scenery doesn't resolve that problem afaik.

On another note, I'm also in for small or micro park. 75x75 at the very max.
edit: sorry for double post, some mod delete first one please...

No poopty marsh that I can't build on.

It looks like a cliffside amusement park will be the next thing. I might look into a Palisade's style park!

Wow. Thanks for all the input and help guys! I really like the sound of a small park on a cliff. This year should be interesting. rcking, I'd assume you'd like to co-host again this year?

By the way, this is just a preliminary topic. The official contest rules, template, and other things will not be decided until after the Nolimits Tournament so everyone has a fair chance of competing.

Yes, KKK. I like moderating this contest. It's a fun experience for me overall.

Great. I'll likely uninstall my expansion packs and begin work on a template in the next week or so.

I think we should wait... It's still first round for NLT. Also, we haven't gained official status yet. Just hold on the plans for now.

You might want to add a bit of custom scenery this time... Just the same stuff for all contestants, no expansion packs sounds good :)

I think some custom scenery would be great. Maybe just add a couple packs into the official template. Of course, no expansion packs will be necessary seeing as not everyone has them.

I kind of like the stock-scenery only scenario, as it offers to show what contestants can do with the stock game itself.

I say CS this time as long as it is provided with the template.

If I make the scenario, that's what I have planned to do. I have to get into contact with GavG.
