The deadline is passed and I have received 14 entries. I have only checked the trackfiles themselves, but not yet if those rides comply with all the rules.

Today I will randomize the tracks and remove all the links to users. The judges will then be able to start rating as I check if all the tracks are valid.

Because there are only 14 entries (possibly less after DQs) the top 8 tracks will continue into the match-up round 2. The four winners from those match-ups will continue to the final.

Gutted my track was no where near supported enough to submit. Good luck to those who entered :)

When do we get to know if we are DQd or not? before or after the ratings?

If all goes to plan, before the end of this week. Maybe even before tomorrow.

Why didn't you just throw some prefabs onto it like I did? What's the worst that can happen? You spend 15 minutes supporting only to not make it to the next round?

It's been less than 24 hours since the deadline. Did you read anything on the last two pages about how we won't even know who's DQ'ed until probably tomorrow?

Slight issue with having the girlfriend up to stay this last week so I've actually barely been on the computer. Probably finish up the supports tomorrow and put it on the exchange anyway :)

I have checked the tracks and 3 entries broke the rules and are therefore disqualified.

two entries had the wrong combination of trains and cars, and one had the wrong top speed, wrong trains and cars combination, and went below the height limit in the blue area.

The members will receive an email, and if you don't get an email, your track was legit.

EDIT: If you have received an email stating that you're DQ'd, please check your ride to check if I didn't accidentally DQ you.

So how long till we can post pics/videos of our rides? Or do we have to wait for the judging to be done?

I don't think that the train and car rule was really a fair one since if you had more trains then all you were doing was increasing capacity.

well yeah a real life coaster in a formal thrill ride park should have at least a 3 train minimum for max capacity. Even X2, designed mainly for two trains, ran a third later on.

There has to be some sort of limit, to keep people from going 10 trains on us.

^ Nah you could just down rate them for having bad stacking or un-realistic load times.

The train rule was there to make it more challenging. Running fewer or shorter trains than required would give you an advantage.

Having that said, I do like your suggestion, Bottomfeeder and see if I could use that set-up in the future.

Shorter trains allow you to have worse G's. Maverick doesn't have 3 car trains because they thought they would be cute.

Shorter trains allow the designer to be more nimble in applying g's. Longer train is slower and more lag.

Well as long as you keep building, that's all that matters.

Someone is a negative nancy. If you think anyone started out "good" you're dead wrong.
