Because being quiet totally worked for women's suffrage and black voting.

Based on that comment I bet you ten thousand dollars you're white, live in the midwest, and have a buzzcut.

You've never seen one of these parades in person have you?

Yes, I have been to one.My friend was in one once. And I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I'm saying they should try to shatter the stereotype instead of reinforcing it. And do you have anything better to do than being a disrespectful jerk? Seriously, I said nothing wrong. You make a crack at me, well, your not much better, being here on the internet and being a prick to someone who usually tolerates you. I didn't do anything to provoke this.

If you ask me the conflict with gay marriage and legalizing [CENSORED WORD] is stupid. If someone does drugs, it doesn't mean you did drugs. Just let people do what they want. We should stop living peoples lives for them. Some kind of "freedom" we have.
Friendship is like peeing. Everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling it brings.

It would be nice to have a black parade but without the basketball (pun-intended)

Honestly, I don't even see a reason why this should be such a big thing. Americans should be ASHAMED that they fail in the first rule of their bill of rights. That some people don't like gay marriage thats their problem. If they don't like it, just say it once and be done with it.

Damn, simple Americans (note, not all, just the religious female doges who are against gay marriage for some wacky reason)

To all my gay friends and those in support of the President's endorsement, disagreeing with you is not bigotry, I am entitled to have an opinion/belief system also ... believe it or not. However, no matter the political party I will never vote for anyone who is pro abortion and for gay marriage - morality matters.

I guess my reply on my other post had kind of backfired on me about Obama's other plans vs Romney's other plans. Even I may not be all into politics but I guess one must weigh in the factors from goods and bads between Obama and Romney but could be rather a tough one to decide.

Same*** marriage is important.

It's crazy to believe that we are still fighting over civil rights for minority groups.
Bible or not, get over it. We live in a free country where everyone is equal.

Enough? [lol]

It's funny to hear "morality matters" coming from someone who believes in the idea of Heaven and Hell and believes that the way to get to Heaven is just to believe that Jesus is Lord and say to him that you're sorry about bad stuff that you've done. So there is ZERO accountability in Christianity; do whatever the heck you want, just say sorry for it after and you'll be forgiven. Heaven and Hell means that Christians do good things and don't do bad things for fear of Hell - whereas those who do not believe in a god do good... becasue it's the right thing to do, because morality matters.

Christianity is the very definition of immorality.

This should have nothing to do with belief systems. It is not a "belief" that homo***uals are Humans and should therefore be entitled to the same basic Human rights as other Humans. Homo***ual people ARE Humans and therefore should have the same basic Human rights as everyone else. There is no argument against this. All you can say to oppose it is to twist the definition of marriage so as to make it out to be something that can only happen in religious context, which is not the case.

I see the south really hasn't changed a bit... How is it related to morality? It's nature.

In accordance to history, your generation has been nothing but segregation this, discriminate that, be offended by this, be a disbeliever in that... and when you're all gone, this world will be a better place, unfortunate enough as it is [:(]

Check it out. You might learn something.

Tconwell won't learn anything. He'll just say we're referring to a different denomination than his even though they're all practically the same and sweep the problem under the rug. They all do that.

TConwell, I feel sorry that your blind faith makes you appear the dimmest lightbulb on this site. Honestly, your faith is a joke and your personal accountability regarding morality is misguided at best. The fact that you are referring to the passages written by humans translated and retranslated over two thousand years as the word of God makes you appear unable to think more critically than a child.

Last of all, if you were a true Christian, you would have many wives who have no importance other than procreation, a long-ass beard, children killed by your own hand for talking back at you, a bunch of slaves, and a handy rock on you for spontaneous stonings, etc...

You're a fraud according to your Bible for adhering to "convenient" parts of it, and your Bible is a fraud.

-edit-
Lol, just realized that radical Muslims make better Christians.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

I can only think of one famous set of "Christians" who could almost be considered "Christians" by the Bibles own defition of a Christian, and that's the Westborough Baptist Church.

The irony of it all, of course, is that Christians will claim absolute moral guidance from the Bible, but depending on which type of Christian you are, you pick and choose which bits of the Bible are good and bad. Surely meaning that you're just molding the Bible to fit your pre-existing sense morality. So what has the Bible taught you about morality? Obviously nothing, because you knew what was good and bad beforehand...

HEY GUYS I JUST WON $1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!

I placed a bet on this thread turning into a religious flame war for $900,000! Then, I placed an additional bet (I was feeling lucky, and this IS the Internet - the atheist legion spawning grounds) of $100,000, where a Christian would post a comment about his views and then get set on fire by multiple Internet atheists!!! AND I WON AGAIN! A winrar is me.

brb, heading to the Ferrari dealer today to look at offers on a new 458 Italia! :D

When someone's views are fairly abhorrent and go completely against Human rights, I think people are fully within their right to call them on it. [lol]

Heh ... nice to see nothing has changed here (even after being absent for over a year). Same old rhetoric-spewing from the bullies, same people circle-jerking one another, same old flame-wars that go nowhere. Piff.

Bullies right. Because you are forcing your views that women have no right over their bodies and that homo***ual men and female are deemed second-class. But, no, we're the bullies.

You are the bully for thinking that your religion entitles you to think everyone needs to live by it as well.
Oh, were you expecting something here?
