Simple answer: yes. The generation under 30 is so "me" oriented that anything that violates their immediate (read:limited) view is deemed illogical, out-dated, and in a word ... wrong.

PS: We need to arrange another trip soon!

Well, Oscar is slapping another man with his wee-wee, so I guess it is back on topic ... no? [lol][lol]

Everyone under 30 can only think about themselves and therefore have a limited view of the world? My goodness, what a sweeping generalisation.

I'm 24.
I'm not gay, yet I am arguing for equal rights for homose.xuals.
I'm not a woman, yet I argue for the right of a woman to be able to terminate the process of pregnancy before the cells in her womb begin to become a Human.
But yes, I can see why you would think I was so very "me" oriented. [lol]

Reasoned and logical discussion between people (weirdly, both under and over 30) qualified in the relevant areas of science, based on testable and repeatable evidence and published, peer reviewed scientific data, leads us to Humanity's (not just mine or just the under 30's) current best understanding of which ever subject is being tackled. This is the "Scientific method". It is applied to every aspect of the development of Humanity. For example, the constant improvement of our understanding of the way the world works leads us to better and better technologies. Another example would be that our understanding of Humans and other animals and our nature has lead to the understanding that Homose.xuals are, in fact, Humans, which in turn lead to the incredible realisation that they, too, should be entitled to the same basic Human rights enjoyed by other Humans. Shock! Stop the presses! [lol]

My point is that the reason I have the views I do on these subjects is because I borrow my knowledge from the ivory tower of knowledge that the Human race has built since we were capable of cognitive thought (Science). Whether or not your opinion is factually and logically informed or simply drawn from a 1500-5000 year old book, written originally by simple desert folk and then translated hundreds and hundreds of times, bears absolutely no reflection to how old you are. A 12 year old can be more logically minded than a 50 year old, so long as the 12 year old has been brought up in the right environment, given the ability of genuine critical thinking, scientific understanding and logical forethought. But also vice versa.

tl;dr: An illogical viewpoint is illogical independant of the view-holders age.

My favorite is when people are unable to explain the processes associated with what they don't believe in.

Except you're using the first quote out of context. There is no argument being made in the second quote.

ANOTHER RANDOM FACT:

The amount of popcorn (in thousands of quarts) consumed during the viewings of this thread is 125% of that consumed during the full residence of Avatar (the highest grossing movie of all time) in theaters!

So it's perfectly acceptable to attack someone when there isn't an argument being made?

^^ I don't think I've ever face palmed so hard in my life...damn near every job that requires a BS uses algebra on at least a daily basis...not to mention the business-related jobs that AJ mentioned...

That graph could, however, be applied to things like art...or music...or history.

But yes, what the hell does it have to do with anything even implied in this thread?

I maybe way to intolerant to share any opinion on this thread. But what the hell is this attitude regarding tolerance anyways. If your referring to it being the right thing to do please explain yourself with the following in mind.

No one likes everyone, but according to public ethics you have to tolerate everyone. I don't like a lot of people due to their doings including ***ual orientation, races, believes etc????????? If I don't like something I take action or try to stay away. Think about it. Do you like rapists? I hope not. Do you tolerate rapists? See you don't believe rapists are good people therefore you don't like them. Would you try to rip a person like that apart physically and emotionally? I would kill them if I had the chance. That can't be intolerance can it? In fact this will classify me as a murderer. (Sort of off topic) FYI Lately some prisons have been renamed to rehabilitation centers. Therefore you?????????re looking at a world where it's highly likely that you might make a friend with a person who have been accused of molesting children but is walking on the streets now because according to the ?????????Justice system????????? that person was penalized long enough. WTF? Whereas a person that stole a cell phone for money to feed his family deep in Africa has been killed for running from the police.

I've been in a major battle of doom with my ex GF regarding not inviting her gay friend over for a braai once. Now I'm declared intolerant so what, who cares. I'm not going to make all my friends feel uncomfortable the whole evening because none of them have the capability of interacting with a homo***ual in a positive way. For all they know I saved the guy?????????s live for not inviting because they probably would have ripped him apart.

Not tolerating something or someone works both ways every time a situation is happening. The same applies for racism isn't it racist to blame a person of opposite race of racism? What would you call the person if it was the same race, a bully?

IMO there are way too much complexity drawn into tolerance, racism, religion and is frankly the biggest waste of time and productivity lost in the progression of the future of the human race in crap like this.
