GG's Timberliners look promising though in terms of maintenance. I agree though that GCI would be better suited for an Aeroplane ride...more their style.

Exactly. And I cant include TGG and the Timberliners till I see them on Voyage succeeding in goal. I need to see it on one of the most intense wooden coasters in the world actually track well after a year. Then Ill put the faith into them. On paper, it should. I just need to see it in practice.

How unfortunate. I really don't like wing riders. I've ridden both X-Flight and Wild Eagle and find them both to be quite bland and short. I was hoping for a Flyer. :(

Damn. I can appreciate a wing rider at CP. I'm excited to see more details. However, I really was hoping they're rip out mean streak and put in some dueling woodies. But disaster transport is demolishable as well.

Yes!!! I'm ecstatic! I'm really excited to see what CP and B&M come up with for the layout on this one, since it'll be taller longer faster blah blah than all the other wingriders. I am even more excited to have B&M working with Cedar Point again, I'm tired of these Intamins lol. I hope they signed a contract which will incorporate more B&M's in the coming years.

Wingrider at Cedar Point... Sounds kinda unappealing...
Oh, were you expecting something here?

I don't have anything against Wing Riders, but I'd rather see Mean Streak get some sorta RMCG make-over.

...rcking, have you ridden Mean Streak this year? It's much smoother and God be my witness, I got airtime in the front seat.
Mean Streak Isn't So Mean!

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

After a lot of hard work by our carpenters in the off-season, Mean Streak is better than ever before! Many people are even saying it's the smoothest it has EVER been. Check out a brand new forward and reverse POV of the classic wooden coaster!

They can leave it alone for a while longer while they add six or seven B&M's ;)

Yes! And Gwazi is the BESTEST ride now because of the Millennium Flyer trains! Thank God all that hard work retracing Gwazi paid off!

I'm not an engineer but I'm pretty sure hurricanes and a subtropical climate makes wooden rides harder to care for around there. Just saying.

And seasonal changes in weather on a dead piece of wood tend to also cause some problems down the line. Plus, poor design and PTC trains beating up the track doesn't help as much now does it?

Not all that thrilled, will miss DT but that is more sentimental from going there for the past 30 plus years. I have ridden Wild Eagle at Dollywood, and frankly thought it was boring, and for the most part force less. About the only thing I did enjoy, was the seat/harness system, I would love to see this design on other B&M models.

While it may seem cool to have no track above or below you, and it is, you end up with track right next to you, so you lose line of site in one direction entirely. The sense of openness is nowhere near what I thought it would be and I rode in outside seats on all my rides.

So they're supposedly getting rid of Disaster Transport and in that spot, plus the parking lot and front entrance, building the biggest wing rider so far? Nice!

Hmm. I'm a little disapointed honestly. I guess I'm just used to Cedar Point doing something more new and out there. A wing-rider just seems like its hopping on the bandwaggon. I mean, I'm sure it'll be enjoyable, but I just feel like they could of invested that 25 million into something better, especially after a 5-6 year vacancy. Hopefully if it is a wing-rider, CP does something with it to make it stand out. If its anything like its counter-parts, I will find it to be a let down. Either way though, something new is better than nothing new... just when two decent coasters and one view-port ride are removed, I would've hoped for something nicer. Something besides disaster transport's blocky building will look nice though. But when my younger brothers find out about DT's removal, they are going to be pretty upset, as its their favorite ride there. I don't know where I stand on this one.

I'm happy that DT is going but sad that it's a wing rider. I despise wing riders. I wanted a flying or a GCI.
