I wanted to make this as a summer project, but not having any idea where to start kind of put a halt to it. I sent an email to the developer of the original asking him if he could either send me the code for it, or give me some tips on the format of the files. I did, however, manage to find a library containing accessors for all of the parts of the track file, except for 3ds, which wasn't going to work so well. Fortunately, the site with said library said that they were working on adding that, and it was last updated in only 2011, so there's certainly a chance that it's an active project. But, there isn't really anything I can do about it at this point, so I'm just going to go ahead and wait around and see if something pops up on that library, or if I get an email from the original developer. In the meantime, you could start decoding the file format for me [;)]
