The contest will begin on Sunday at 12:00:00 AM EST.

Because starting a contest on a Wednesday sounds absolutely pointless, I decided that the contest will officially begin on a Sunday following the tradition of CoasterCrazy in terms of a brand new a week. Be prepared for the contest. Study up on some other users and their parks on sites like nedesigns.com. Be sure that there are NO compatibility issues with your game with your PC. Once Sunday comes around, the contest will begin, and any issues you have with the game will be solely your problem to deal with.

At this point, signups are now closed.

=====================================================

Hello all coaster enthusiasts! It's time for the 2nd annual RCT2 contest to get under way!

This year we will be trying a NEW way to test the participant's skills! Rather than just one park and one round, there will be one park and 3 rounds! For every two that sign-up, only one can advance to the final round!

Round 1 and Round 2:

Build a section of a larger park. No eliminations will occur until after the 2nd round. Finalists are determined by highest average of the two rounds.

Round 3:

Finish the whole park that you previously started from rounds 1 and 2.

Sign-ups are now open.

Also, a second judge will be needed for this year.

And one more thing, get ready to use custom scenery!

I'm in! Don't think I'm going to be judging this year, though. Very busy summer planned.

I can judge if I absolutely need to, but note that sometime in the middle of August my free time will cease to exist. Also I have no reputable RCT parks on record to give me any qualifications whatsoever. So like I said, use me as a last resort. On that note, I have no custom scenery experience ever, so unless there won't be a heavy disadvantage to using on the base RCT2 scenery (not even any expansion packs), I won't be participating.

I can probably judge, too lazy to actually compete lately though.

boneplaya, The CS won't be overkill for you, I assure you. But are you in or not?

A.S.C., thank you for your interest.

Wait, is CS included in the template or do we have to fetch our own? If we have to fetch, I may not compete since I don't know that side of RCT2 at all really. But built-in defined CS I can handle. I think boneplaya would agree. It would just be a matter of using the objects instead of trying to figure out the world of New Element and it's objects.

AJClarke0912, CS doesn't work like that with RCT2. In order to open any RCT2 file, you need to have all objects which will be provided.

So, the CS that will be used will be the ones I pick out.

That's what I was questioning. Good to know that we will at least be using the same objects so it's a more level playing field.

I'm in. One question, though...I must inquire whether the CS you select will be some of those very large and complicated sets, or simply sets that can expand and mix in easily with the stock scenery.

Also, is this going to be RCT2 or RCT2+Expansions? I have the expansions, but my TTP discs are buried somewhere and I only know where the regular RCT2 disc currently resides. This information will allow me to know which archaeological digs on which I need to embark.

It's going to be the RCT2 vanilla game, no expansions.

I'll enter, but I have completely f**ked up my RCT2 with extra scenery. While I'm posting, does anybody know how to clean out the extra RCT2 scenery I've downloaded without going through each file in object data? Uninstalling did nothing at all.

Go to your game's location (in Program Files) and manually move the scenery folder to a new location. That's when you reinstall.
