So garlic powder didn't help then? Other methods are chicken wire, put it on the floor as you enter your room, like make a door mat out of it (but big enough so he cant jump it). Because they hate walking on it. Also some stuff called "shake away" which like garlic powder it stinks of cats natural predators.

Cover the whole floor in about half an inch of water, then unbend a wire coat hanger, put one end of it in a mains plug and then the other end of it in the water on the floor. Perfectly safe. Probably best if you wear rubber soled shoes while you do this, and plausibly some gloves. The cat will be all like, mmm, water; then it will try to have a sip and basically just explode. But that could be shown to be an accident and you would not be a direct fault, so it's fine [^]

I think throwing some HF on it would be better but I don't trust myself to handle the container.

people who have a "lets hurt cats" mentaity are horrid people. first , it is somebodies pet. people who feel this way obviously dont care aout the anguish people would feel when their pet is klilled by an asshole i would, if it were my cat that some asshole hurt i would make sure that every charge and more against them would be pressed, in fact, if this woman's pet was hurt and somehow it wound up in the news i would submit this thread to the authorities for evidence, second, and most disturbing to me is the " it doesnt do what i say BECAUSE i say "mentality now for coastkid as a ***ually frustrated 22 year old virgin i think it might be hyperbole stemming from ***ual frustration , but considering gouldy's well documented obsession with young, innocent, under age and naive girls i'd say it was evidence of a larger problem. ,

I have 2 cats, and they were such a pain as kittens. When they were 8 weeks old, we brought them home, and they started clawing up all the furniture. Solution: put aluminum foil in/on all the areas they like to claw that aren't meant for it. My cats are lazy and dumb, but they don't bother me anymore mostly, so I have no problem with them. They hate to sleep with us, and they sleep 16 hours a day. My cats have never been annoying little poops, so I can't really help a whole lot.

I have 2 cats aswell and they never bother me, they don't seem nearly as dumb as you make them out to be too.

Then... get a fan? Isn't that the point of a fan? lol

Maybe get two fans: one pointing in the room, one pointing out shooting at the kitty, annoying it.

The whole place has nine fans blowing air around in strategic ways. I need my door open so said fans can blow air from the room with the AC unit in it into the rest of the rooms in the apartment.

I don't see why you guys can't grasp how a place without central air works I mean really.

Jcoasters suggested you get a fan. You then said "my apartment doesn't have central air". Which would mean... get a fan since you have no A/C?

But now that we know you have 9 fans the mass confusion has been cleared up lol. I don't think you understood what we were trying to tell you, but it doesn't matter since you already have fans.

How about a giant roll-up chain-link fence that you cover the door with every night, allowing only air and judgings from other people wondering what the hell is wrong with you to pass through but kitties to not pass through. If you were a filter enthusiast, you would probably rate that one 10/10.

Otherwise I can't see us resolving this lol. If you want some kind of kitty-slaying jayman-opposed bioweapon, try posting on PETA's boards for lulz and then try some science board or something. I dunno. We're not that smart/caring; you'll have to look elsewhere.

This is why I wrote the without hurting it part and the title is "deal with" as opposed to "killing"

Also wanting to sleep through the night isn't an unreasonable request.

The problem here is the cat owners. They clearly have no respect for you so maybe eye for an eye? Start walking around naked all the time. If they ask, well, tell them!

Fans don't help at all if there's no A/C. The house I've lived in for the last year had no AC, and my room was basically the attic, so all of the heat rose straight into my room and I was lucky if the room temp dropped below 90* at night once summer hit. I had 4 fans blowing 24/7.

Dude, we have a royal poodle. Its an awesome dog, and we don't give him that stupid ass haircut. He almost looks like an Irish setter. Also, they don't loose hair. Maybe you should give it a try.

And CK, talk to your roommate. If that doesn't help, get that shock collar and the sensor or just a cat repellent spray. I guess thats the most "humane" solution. Good luck with that problem, buddy.
