I haven't ridden a wing rider yet, but do they have that typical B&M roar? I was thinking if it did, the workers at that gate could possibly hate being there. This looks so cool!

Am I the only one that doesn't mind the name?

Also, I love that layout. Seriously looks good. (Anyone notice the airtime hill? And I'm digging the pace-break thingie after the dive loop.) Colors are good, since nothing at CP is that kind of blue for the track. Also, MCBR hints at 3 train operation would is a plus for CP capacity levels.

From what I've heard, I think CP is going to make an announcement tomorrow.

^That's been known for a while now yes. And AJ I don't mind the name either. I said it was a dumb name unless they could put a nice, intimidating logo with it and that's exactly what they did. I say everything here is well done.

I actually like the name myself, its kind of witty. Though I do think Guardian would of been a better choice with the same meaning.

I am palpably disappointed at this name. It's abysmal...it's as bad as Chinese coasters we laugh at (worse, even) named simply for the function they perform i.e. 'Dive Coaster.' This haze of disgust makes it hard to appreciate anything about the ride, but the layout does show promise.

Wait, are you serious? Well, alright; you can stand there at the entrance and assert your disgust at the name and resulting disgust at the entire ride as a whole whilst I'm repeatedly riding the beautiful, bright blue work of art installed by one of the top steel design companies at one of the worlds top parks, the staff of whom certainly deliberated and worked hard toward finalizing a name and theme for their new installment.

No limits onride POV. Not sure how it ended, so I just tried to connect it.

^I don't know where you got that twist after the MCBR from. That little hump in the picture appears to be an entirely separate airhill that comes after the post-MCBR helix.

I am sooo glad they put one good old airtime hill in this, and especially so early in the layout before all the speed has died down. The blue is pretty nice looking IMO, and i definitely like the name. Why Gatekeeper is "abysmal" I don't quite understand, lol.

Layout looks awesome and I am stoked!

^AND it looks like their is a second one towards the end. Hopefully the speed is still decent there too.

Your choice of music is simply awful, but I like this look of the layout...and I still like the looks of that first drop!

All lip service to Cedar Point/Fair's marketing staff aside, I'm getting over their lowest-common-denominator of a naming choice. As has been said, the logo/colors/layout are strong. A silly name isn't going to keep me from booking a flight. When is Mufflehead season again?

I think everything is great except all of it...Wind Riders are force less and boring. The "openness" of the seating is not open at all, if you are on the left side of the train, you see nothing to the right, you can't look down as the harness design gives you no ability to lean forward. Add to that, B&M's current designs are sluggish and over-engineered.

That being said, this will prove to be a great addition as the GP will eat this thing up. Putting it front and center will only help. The capacity should be okay with the 3 train operation. The only thing I like is that it will mean shorter lines at M Force, Magnum, and Maverick, and that is a good thing.

Okay, just re-read my post, coming across pretty negative and that is not the case at all, I am exited to see a new coaster at my home park Cedar Point. I just see these Wing Riders as the flavor of the month, kinda like stand ups back in the mid 1990's. Yes, I have ridden both Wild Eagle and X-Flight.

I understand the last paragraph, and the fact that they aren't as open as they're claimed to be. But I don't really think it's fair of you to pretty much judge GateKeeper and say it's going to be forceless and boring if it hasn't even been officially announced yet.

I didn't say this was going to be or is going to be boring and force less. I said that the 2 wing riders I have been on are, or at least that is what I meant. I just feel that the width of the train forces them to create really slow drawn out transitions to keep the g's in check.

I'd ride X Flight many many many more times before I ever rode any of the standups I've been on so I think that counts for something.

Forceless apart from the insane airtime you get on Swarm if sat in the perfect seat. Which is my only gripe with wingriders - the experience is so seat dependent it's crazy. A longer coaster like this will be able to even out the ride experience somewhat but it'll all still feel different wherever you sit.

The only stand-up that got it right in my opinion is Goergia Scorcher.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

You're comparing a fitting, mythological term to the default catalog description.. In Asia this would rather be called the "Wing Rider over Entrance Coaster". It's a great name, anyone who thinks otherwise seriously fails to understand its meaning.

^^I gave a knee-jerk reaction to what is, in fact, a fairly generic name. Though in context, I suppose it's not much more broad than 'Raptor,' which could refer to any number of predatory birds, dinosaurs, or hard disk drives.

Further, someone's opinion differing from your own does not denote a lack of understanding. It's not like they chose to name the ride 'Anubis' or something else that would point to a particular mythos.
