Depends on how civilized it being discussed. Keep it clean and we'll keep the topic open. If you guys cannot control yourself, we lock it.

Exactly the reason for the element of surprise in my 3rd comment on this page (9th comment from the top) that we managed to get to the 6th page in a religious discussion. Almost the whole thing was completely amicable!

So in other news I was assigned to teach the paleontology intro class for non-majors this semester.

Any bets on how many times I'll have a jesustard trying to break into the classroom to distribute pamphlets about how wrong evolution is despite them taking medication that absolutely depends on it working? Last semester it happened twice.

No it's more fun to ask them what they're doing and watch them get all flustered over the fact that yes trying to get into a room with a credit card is breaking and entering.

They "would NEVER do such a thing"

Considering it's the Fall semester, and there will be more people overall on campus, I'll say 5 or so.

CK, say; "gentlemen, this is a science class. If you don't wish for me to break into your church and begin handing out The Origin of Species, I suggest you realise why what you're doing is abhorrent and then leave, post haste".

The deal is that the site is called Coaster Crazy and doesn't have to be all about No Limits. There are plenty of active coaster topics.

Also, there's a 60-page thread somewhere about NL2, and a 20-page (I think?) thread about CP 2013.

If the big bang theory is an egg, where did the egg come from?

I also like discussing religions origins.

Some one enlighten me on Judaism and Zoroastrianism! I read that Judaism was around prior to zoroastrianism, but was polytheistic until zoroastrianism influenced and changed it into a monotheistic religion. Any specialists on the subject?

It isn't/wasn't an egg. Please, before you ask questions like that, learn to internets.

Egg is metaphor of something from nothing. The question is why not how? Now go explain

Again, you should learn to Google. The question of "something from nothing" is absolute bull. Our universe has never been in a state of nothing. The big bang is an expansion of space and time from a singularity.

I agree with coolbeans. In a nutshell, "If God does exists, who the f*#@ created him/her/it?".

I am against all religions but understand those who are not and choose with their own freedom of will to believe in it.

Life with all these questions, if suddenly answered, would become damn boring, I think.

...and then you say...

So there was a dense mass of particles just there in the otherwise empty universe. and it all happened by chance. but say by chance it was an act of god? Again, for point of discussion, I feel God is a much more abstract being rather then the personified being he is made out to be. Rather then an "omnipotent all knowing" force that demands obedience from the human race, i consider it as more of a force for which we are all connected. I find it funny that through out the centuries humans have created rules by which God himself adheres to. From there he then created rules for which we are to adhere to for if we are ever to remain in his presence and bask in his glory eternally. And there are many interpretations about what God intends for us and how we should remain in his grace.

While I feel that 'god' as we shall call it, is omnipresent, I feel its purpose was no more then the creator of life and things with physical properties for which all things abide. We are more or less along for the universal ride.

and then we come full circle and get back to the question as to why there was a god/dense matter in the universe.
