Why is this in the category its in? Well as most of you know Hurricane (now Tropical Rainstorm) Sandy made landfall around Cape May NJ around 5:50 PM EDT yesterday. The storm brought MAJOR coastal flooding to the areas around it. To the point, several theme parks on the shore and inland have been affected by this storm. The park that got hit rather hard seemed to fair well enough and that is Morey's Piers in Wildwood NJ. The park was spared major damage out side of the ocean re-filling the water park pools with sand and other derbies let alone water.

I dont have any information on Steel Pier at this time but Atlantic City did receive extensive damage to its boardwalk and sea-side areas from the storm surge.

In the areas around Sandy Hook NJ and Seaside Heights Casino Pier has suffered major damage including a partial collapse. This has left the park on that pier heavily damaged. Many rides have been damaged and/or submerged by sea-water. Some rides are now IN the ocean due to the collapse. See the photo here to get a scene of the damage at Casino Pier.

That ride in the ocean there is the Star Jet roller coaster. It is likely not salvageable. http://www.rcdb.com/1477.htm - Star Jet RCDB Page

All inland parks I have looked into, Dorney Park in Allentown PA, Hershey Park in Hershey PA, Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson NJ, and Knoebels in Elysburg PA are reporting minor damage. Mainly trees down and other minor damage.

I will update this as time goes on. I have no information on Coney Island but I know that New York has suffered major damage in some areas, specifically the Finical District.

I'm interested in seeing how the theme parks have faired during the storm - so thanks for the updates! The picture of the jetstar is incredible!

Here are some pictures of the Wildwood NJ park, Morey's Piers. Wildwood was very close to if not directly impacted by the eye wall of the hurricane.

I don't know Jayman. I can say that the damage is widespread and its very possible that th CCI your thinking of is damaged if not destroyed. I do have an update on the other pier in Seaside called Funtown Pier. It had a few coasters and reports are that all have been destroyed. To me this is devestating since I go to Seaside every few years and I remember going on both piers and riding the rodes there. Its a shame to think, rather know that they are gone now.

Morey's hardly got any damage at all. I'm sure Great White (the CCI) is 100% fine.

^ Ahhh that CCI. Yea that should be alright, other then a little damage to its operational systems it should be fine.

I found a few more pictures of the piers in Seaside.

Holyyyy sheeit. That place is doomed lol. Would really suck to be them.

That's about all I can say.

Good thing Morey's isn't in that sort of trouble - it's too unique and cool to get destroyed like that.

I know he kind of people that went to seaside every weekend, I can honestly say its a waste of a town. However I do feel bad about the damage, and consider myself lucky for not having any damage, I just feel like that town is one of the worst towns I've ever been to
What are these for?

Guys the Obama weather machine changed the climate to make this happen in an effort to make Romney look bad cause he hates FEMA.

Climate change is also a liberal lie.

Yeah, I wouldn't have expected anything at Morey's Piers to be damaged because nothing there is cheap like at Seaside. Plus, the piers are built to survive flooding and wind since they are so low on the beach.

Keansburg got hit pretty bad. Thankfully, though, the Schwarzkopf looks like its still in pretty good shape.

No, it's because God sent a hurricane to punish the people he created for being stupid enough to believe that a God that created people would send a hurricane to punish them.
