I guess I'm digging up an extinct topic here, but I'm actually still playing around with this template. I have about 2200 feet of track and 5 inversions at the moment. I might actually have to upload this [lol]

Layout:
Lift
Non-heartline Roll
Wing-over
MCBR
Dive
Loop
Hybrid Roll
Spaghetti bowl for about 500 feet
Totally misshapen diving loop

Top speed is currently 48mph, and the G's really push the limits of coasters, but I'm willing to overlook yellow's for this project

(Sorry about having to post a link. My computer is being kind of b*tchy today.)

lol Every entry except mine has some sort of flat heartline roll cheater inversion. I should get brownie points for not skimping out. [:)]

Looks nice. Wait until supporting though... then it won't really look nice.

Only 700ft to go! [lol]
Supporting this is going to be such a b*tch...

That template was so incredibly difficult, well done for getting within 700ft :D :P

Even tho I know the contest is over, you guys talking about how hard the template is has got me intrigued.

^It's mainly hard due to lack of planning/experience with this kind of stuff. But, some of us decided to try it out for kicks.

As you can see, it was very fun, because I'm still working on it.

I just got a crazy idea. Downloading the template, make the coaster according to the red tape, color it Superman colors, place rings around the track, and call it Superman 64, after that N64 game that got a bunch of terrible reviews. The convoluted trackwork would simulate players' frustrated attempts to actually control Superman.

Just thought I'd leave an update. Rather than posting once in a blue moon on a separate construction thread, I'll do just that here.

Colours have been changed. Supports will be white. The name has also been contemplated. My current theme is based around the name Maelstrom.

Looks trippy.
I decided to give this a shot too. It's pretty challenging so far. 1629.13 feet in, and already making inversions not appear too tight is kinda hard. It's called Superman 64 and the layout represents the player having a hard time controlling Superman due to bad controls. This is not an official project.

The layout viewed from above. The very right edge of the layout may look like it goes past the boundary, but a look in the editor would reveal that it is a little over a foot away from it at its closest point.

Some kind of immelman/helix/inline twist thing.

Well, this has been a terribly annoying coaster to built.

But, that said, I'm happy with the layout:

Now let's see if I can get this supported
