This is my first post, so please be nice, and I'm not sure where to post this so yeah[:I]

Well, recently I posted my first coaster, Saturn, and it has gotten 27 downloads, here is a link to it: http://www.coastercrazy.com/track_exchange/detail/19458
but does anyone know how to get the perfect picture for a coaster, and how to make it view worthy? Even getting a rate, good or bad? Thank you to all of you good peoples!

It helps to advertise your ride and have a development topic whilst your building the coaster. It shows that you're not just uploading something you made in 5 minutes and people will keep an eye for the release. Its not certain to get you lots of rates but might help things along.

For the perfect picture I generally find those at a mid-range showing something unique or photogenic about your ride :)

Another thing that helps for the perfect picture is that people will be less likely to download if the picture:
-shows aspects of the design that are frowned upon (prefab supports, obviously bad/unrealistic shaping, poor/unrealistic support work)
-is not a simulator screenshot
-has eye searing colors for the ride
-is zoomed out too far or pixellated. I'm pretty sure one of the anti-aliasing options would help with that.
If you have a video of the ride, you might think about posting it so that people can see what your ride is like before downloading. Ideally the video of the ride should have the download link somewhere in the description.

Yeah, I'm fairly new to the game, I received it as a gift about four months ago. How do you take a screenshot that isn't in the simulator?

For working in the editor, simply press PrintScreen, and paste it in a picture program such as paint.
