Knotts Berry Farm is going to be doing work to bring one of their older rides up to date. Knotts will close the Timber Mountain Log Ride while Garner Holt Productions of San Bernardino helps to do the renovations. Work is expected to take about five months.

I hope they don't ruin it. That ride is a classic.

You guys must not have heard that Garner Holt is working on this. He is one of Disney's go-to guys for their attractions. His work is out of this world. Also, look at who is in charge or Cedar Fair now, Mr. Quimet was the head of Disney parks and resorts for a while before going to CF. I am sure he and Garner have worked with each other before. And if that's not enough, listen to TSPP (The Season Pass Podcast). They have talked with GHP on the show before and if Brent Young of Super 78 and Bob Gurr are anyone to go by, this will be great when its done.

I for one am very excited to see how this turns out.

Yeah just look at how bad test track is now compared to the old test track. Disney has made some questionable renovations.

disney always does good, but "that " kind of better might not be what the log ride should get, gotta admit though, they could do something awesome. i guess for my part i'd like to see it preserved with it's corniness intact.

If I remember Jay, that the main reason they brought in GHP. They want to make it look new again but update some stuff so it lasts longer. I understand that Knotts is "your" park and I understand your distaste for what Kinzel did to it but that era is over now. Its time to preserve our (Cedar Fair's) parks individual history. Its seems they want to start ride at the #4 park, Knotts.

(Knotts was the 4th park bought by Cedar Fair LP back in the 90s.)

Hopefully they don't change the theme, layout, or animitronics but just update the mechanics and systems so that the technology is more up-to-date, allowing the moving parts to last longer and function more reliably.

I think this is what jay wants, along with me.
