Really? I assumed that they would be totally different skills/midset that i would be challenging at the least.

I'm not arguing, just curious. I'm interested in becoming a Structural engineer myself... Or an electronics engineer... two totally different fields lol.

I just thought that they just came up with the design on paper, and tried to replicate the best they could at the plant.

Coat-hangers my friend. Ron Toomer designed the corkscrew that way.

Now to go to Zazzle.com or some other custom T Shirt manufacturer. I'm serious. I'm gonna make a t shirt with that. Thanks.

Fear not! All the trains and equipment are receiving updated textures either for release or in incremental updates shortly following release, depending on how much time we have. Many train styles are even being re-textured from scratch. The new engine accepts normal and specular maps and so the level of detail goes beyond mere higher resolution. The Dive Train screen shots should give you a very good idea of the level of detail in our car textures. http://www.nolimitscoaster.de/index.php?page=news&paginator=2

By the way, we are sorry we can't be more open about features, screen shots, that sort of thing. There are very good reasons for that which have nothing to do with the state of the simulator. But we do promise to be around more to try to answer what we can. You guys are the community, and without our community NoLimits is nothing. [:)]

It's actually really awesome. I think you guys should start selling No Limits official merchandise, whether it's with that logo or not. I'd totally buy some.

Also, Phyter, I'm guessing it will be using Open GL 4.3, or if something newer comes out? And, additionally, do you think AMD and NVIDIA will optimize it in driver updates? Or is it not a big enough title? Will you have to put a lot of time optimizing it for different GPU architectures yourself?

That's cute. I used to know fancy computer hardware stuff like that. Then I had to try and buy said computer hardware with my own money.

Umm, the reason why Redditt is successful is because of the irrelevant off topic discussions that goes on between the real discussion. We'll get back on topic in just a moment. In the mean time though, I'd like to hear more about Coasterkid's hobbies and I'm hoping Gouldy will explain what this "intercourse" is. I feel like there's nothing else to say about NL2 at the moment.

Coitus.

Nah... I don't really know, I just heard someone else talking about it once, and I'm still really interested in computer stuff. Also, I like Ramen noodles.

The detail level variance between NL1.x's trains is pretty clear. It's interesting that a lot of new trains for NL2 are straight-up being retextured (as opposed to just slapping on a normal and specular map and calling it a day), although it makes sense since a lot of the NL1.x texturing would not work as nicely with normal maps as they do by themselves.

In addition, there's a pretty evident contrast between train geometry detail in 1.3's wooden coaster trains, 1.5's remodeled steel trains, and 1.6 (and post-1.6) B&M and other trains. Shows how the team is improving their work as they go, and makes me curious about how much time they have for re-working the older trains in NL2. Not that it really matters when even 1.3's assets still have decent detail, and with the fact that there are lots of other things to update.

As for the T-shirt idea, I was kidding but thought others might be amused by the idea. I'd definitely get an "official" NL2 tee though, with whatever the new logo will be stamped on and all.

Not sure how well NL-labeled stuff would sell, but if it's popular enough amongst the community, it could become quite a marketing and income tool.

It's something I'd like to know. Are you telling me I can't ask questions? I'd like to know whether or not I'll be getting increased optimization apart from the included in the API. I like games that are well optimized, and you should too considering you're probably running on integrated graphics.

I'm sorry for being curious about the development and performance about one of my favorite games.

This is not reddit. If you have nothing to say about NL2, do not post it (in this topic). There are almost no restrictions in what you can discuss on this site, but please create another topic for it.
It's OK to get off topic for a few post but if it's taking over the topic then I step in.

UGH! I love modern B&M hyper trains! SO stoked to see that they're implementing them.
