As you've noticed, my coasters that have inversions are pretty pumpy and newton-y. I'm looking for someone skilled in Newton that can help me with a Cobra Roll. I cannot for the life of me make a cobra roll without pumps.

Please PM me so I can send the Newton file your way.

How is it that you can make pumps with Newton? I feel like you would have to go out of your way with effort to accomplish that lol...

Start here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKpRa6zQiFM

That should give you a good basis for making a cobra roll and you can customize it as you see necessary.

Simple. Newton hates me when it comes to lower speeds. Pumps are most noticeable when switching between Euler and quaternion. I've tried the tutorial and its worse than the corkscrew tutorial....no real help, especially when it comes to the part between the inversions.

and I don't use FVD++ simply because there is no tutorials or any info to get me started. It's also really annoying that I have to go and change the time values for every thing.

Oh, I know what you're talking about now, yeah. Switching orientations will turn out 'pump' like banking wiggles if you're not at 0 degrees roll during the orientation switch. In rare cases, finding the location where the banking wiggle occurs and turning con-roll off manually in the editor can help. Aside from that, using a high track smoothing value in the element output can help too, but that affects all of the element, so I usually don't like doing that.

FVD++ is a real pain the ass to get going with, and I'm still trying to pull some momentum really; the rolling operation is much different. But the program in general is really similar to Newton. Just read the ReadMe for starters and plug-n-chug.

I'm still waiting for Newton 3 so maybe entropy will incorporate features like FVD++ with his easier user interface. He's teased Newton 3 but hasn't said anything about it. I really want to see what it's going to be like. If you want to see pumps like I mentioned download my "Serpent" track.....I tried making a sea-serpent roll "my way", that was a very stupid idea.

Actually I've ditched the Cobra Roll Layout and made something new. I want to attempt an interlocking corkscrew as the final element. I've tried Entropy's tutorial, But I can't get the corkscrew to end with a 0 degree roll and still have it wide enough like a real B&M.
