I'm trying to take my time and go slow with this one. I'm not continuing until every last inch of the track is something I'm satisfied with.

Phoenix is a project I left unfinished for a long time. I've decided to revisit it to simply solve my boredom.
As usual, expect a standard track with ludicrous amounts of 3DS work. My tracks with inversions have always lacked in the smooth department and I'm trying my best to make it smooth and pump free. I haven't attempted a corkscrew since "Dragon", so it's been a while.

Yes. But just a little bit. The top of the element should be closer to 90 degrees rather than 180.

Alright, I will change the roll to occur earlier.

EDIT: The beginning of the element is now 0.44 seconds.

I don't see any difference yet so I reduced it by a little more than half....0.20 seconds. The picture below you can ignore.

In a random note....Why the hell are Immelmann's easy and the Dive loops ridiculous? My dive loops have two pumps, right after the roll and right after than as it dives straight down.

LOL WAT?

You're going to be okay being around 140-150 degrees at the peak. Also, take a dang picture from the side so we can actually see the profile.

As requested.

I've also made a corkscrew.....I think it's still way too narrow but this is the only one I've made without a pump at the apex. Speed of the train before the corkscrew is 37-39 MPH depending on E-Stop.

That looks really bad, little narrow like you said but the roll is also off center and it looks too heartlined and the entrance.

Yeah, the corkscrew needs some work. And I'm not so sure about that turnaround thing. Looks like you want to turnaround and let newton do all the work.

I couldn't get the corkscrew to work so I scrapped it. I'm also changing the turn-around to make it higher and used a hybrid time warp for the transition out of it.

EDIT: Now that I changed the layout I'm making another attempt at the Corkscrew. I'm closer, but not quite there IMO.

They don't bank at the bottom and rotate constantly like you have it, they enter more straight and then the banking speeds up at the top.

I don't know? They go in slow and get fast at the top and then slow down again as they pull out. Watch some videos.

I messed with the time, tension, and roll values. Result:

Although the roll occurs much faster, the overall element is also much more narrow. Seems I can't solve every problem at once.

Mmm pull out.

What you need to is make the track slightly banked as it enters the roll, with positive g-forces. That way it will begin to shift to the left/right, instead of basically creating a zero-g roll which is a straight line.

Luckily I keep a backup of everything. I'll revert back to the wider one and simply modify the track before it. Wish me luck.

What do you think the banking should be before the Corkscrew starts?

I've finished the track layout...finally. I've had to make unwanted changes and I'll get massive criticism for the corkscrews. Ah, well. You guys will see it in the next time lapse video....If you don't know what Time Lapse I'm talking about, go to the 3D Modeling Discussion.
