This is my newest project, a very large B&M Gigacoaster. I lost the supported version of my other current B&M project, Nimbostratus, so I decided I'd rather do a new roller coaster and support that before redoing the Nimbostratus supports. Here is what I came up with; Elephantus.

306 feet in height
93 miles per hour
~7,500 feet in length

This should be available quite soon. I will keep you all posted.

Golly, thanks sir. I'm changing up the ending after the last hammerhead. I don't like what I have there right now. I have been having these problems frequently lately- unable to find a good finish to my ride without changing it multiple times. The good thing about that is it allows me to end my ride only in a meaningful and good looking way, which I don't feel I have accomplished. I think I want to incorporate a watersplash.

Everything up until the last hammerhead, airhill, and turn is exactly how I imagined this ride in my head, but I ran out of editor space to end it how I desired. So I must come up with something new... hmmm..

Are you able to rotate the entire layout to make it fit? And what don't you like about the current ending?

I have rotated it to hell and back. The ending that I had just wasn't meaningful to me. The last bunny hill seemed out of the place, and the turn into the brakes had quick transitions and was just a little too forceful- feats of mine trying to make it turn into the brakes sharply enough to fit haha. But I think the ending I have just arrived at works much better.

And of course it includes Gertlcrazy's favorite thing ever- WATERSPLAYYUSH. My spirit is yearning for Orlando, where I'm headed in 10 days =D (Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls, Journey to Atlantis, Manta, so many watersplashes <3 )

Side view of the turnaround.

The exit from the MCBR. The MCBR inclusion was one of the smartest things I could have done for this ride.

Image

Drop out of the MCBR, and you see the first airhill parallel to it.

We all see where this is going... =)

^Ripsaw falls, Journey to Atlantis, and Kumba were all closed on my visit to florida last week [:(]. I was very upset. Is Kumba better than Montu? Because Montu kicked insanely serious ass and it was trimmed.

Ride looks great except that turn before the splashdown which has a wierd entry and is too loose. In fact, most of the elements on this ride seem A little drawn out and loose.. Might just be the sheer size throwing me off.

I would actually cry. Ripsaw Falls is the greatest water ride ever.

Yeah, it's much more powerful.

Thanks! Also, the final hammerhead rides pretty much exactly like Leviathan's final hammerhead, except that it ends lower than the beginning rather than higher (for the watersplash, obviously). The profiles are quite similar, just different in scale. Maybe the size is throwing you off. The ride executes all elements at a very B&M-like rate. In fact, the entrance to that hammerhead is even more rapid and quick than Leviathan's corresponding element, so I'm not sure why you think it's loose *and after re-riding the POV of Leviathan, the pacing on this roller coaster seems slightly more rapid in a lot of ways.

*edit*

Here's a lil' somethin' somethin'. My hammerhead is just bigger and has more roll to it. Hopefully this clears that up.

Thanks. I changed up my colors, I wonder if you guys have any suggestions? I wanted to go with a black track/silver support scheme, but I think with such a big roller coaster I have an opportunity to be more bold with color choices. What do you guys think of these colors/ new shots?

Exiting the turnaround sequence.

A good angle to look at the shaping of the bigger hills.

And the finale section gets some attention. Elephantus also has a long, gentle brake run like its cousin, Leviathan.

Shucks thanks. I'm still toying around with train colors, dunno if I'm gonna stick with the gray.

FINALLY produced a spine haha, tunnel maker is a huge pain in my butt.

The spine shouldn't curve all the way down, it's starts to go straight when the track curves away from it.

What are these for?

^^ckidd has the right idea. The clothoid spine isn't going to be very different from the straightened spine. It's basic statics. This clothoid spine prevents against any bending just as Leviathan's does. It doesn't have to be exactly like Leviathan's to be physically stable, trust me [approve]

Personally, I think the color scheme resembles Nimbostratus a bit. Maybe a R127 G104 B104 warm grey color scheme would be better suited to the name than the cloudy-ish blue you have right now. Just personal opinion.

Visually I'd prefer the straight spine but this would work. It would probably just take another day or so longer to manufacture in real life because of its curvature. Not a deal at all. I still like the colors, though richie is suggesting a gray.

This color is more of a gunmetal, cold blue though. It will definitely be much more different from Nimbostratus's colors when I have the supports finished. I think I'm going to go with a yellow (lol just realized thats the reversed scheme of Nimbostratus) or red, and truth be told I might play around with the color scheme all together when the ride is finished, in which case the spine will need to be reproduced and I can re-evaluate my approach to the shaping of it if I see the need.

Lol what......
Beyond the watersplash and the spine, I don't think much scenery is going to make it onto this ride's final product. But it's possible that a station and custom catwalks or an MCBR area might be done- that stuff is easy.

^Thanks, hoping that means you're looking forward to it. Can I get some opinions about color? I'm simply playing with color right now, and I played with this color scheme. I liked it, but I'm not sure about landing on it for final colors.

Also... Photobucket is down as hell right now, what the heck!? I had to register on ImageShack.

The spine and clothoid.

Work continues to be done. Tunnel-testing all of the many close collisions during the section parallel to the lift.

So many organic headchoppers on the way back!

I'm not a big fan of the colors. Looks like a banana. Perhaps you should name it "Peel"?

If you are going for bold, I think a nice Walibi Goliath color scheme would look nice. Or maybe change the support color to a dark green?

Make the supports more blue and dark. How about a black? Or navy blue?
