former SFNE ride

I'm trying to find out the name and manufacturer of the waterslide that used to occupy the current site of Blizzard River. It was a raft ride similar to the one currently operating in Canobie Lake park where you sit in a raft, but is NOT a waterpark style raft ride where you'd need a bathing suit. Any help? I tried google but can't find anything [?]

Well, thats a hard thing to nail down for the reason that the rides path, the trough, is made by one company and the cars (boats/rafts) are made by another.

I could have been Intimin since I know they do make some of those rafts. As for the trough, I wouldnt have a clue.

I checked the Intamin website and they don't manufacture what i'm talking about. The ride I want to know about is not a blizzard river style raft ride, but the style of ride that was there before that. you'd sit in an inflatable raft and go down a waterslide but did not need to change into a swimsuit or even take off your shoes. a similar ride is in operation at Canobie Lake, although the name escapes me...

I MIGHT have a picture of this in a book, I'll look for it tonight. I can't think of any water rides at Canobie besides Tea Party, slide tower and the flume though, and those definitely get you wet.

The 1990 shot on Google earth shows a slide tower, so maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Try Proslide or White Water West since they are one of the few who makes the water slide raft rides.

No, he means the slide tower that was where Blizzard River is back when it was Riverside.

I WISH I had the money lol. I'm planning out a new back yard and was just researching for now. Does the seller have a website? I'm interested even though I'm not ready to buy.

I would not recommend putting a commercial grade water slide in your back yard. As much fun as it sounds they do have a pretty high annual upkeep.

They do make residential models which are more suited to the care free maintenance style of the typical home owner. They are thicker, made of slightly denser materials that don't need to be waxed, and they do not require a big pump like the commercial units.

Check with your local pool supply company and they can likely give you the name of the company they use. You want the segmented kind so you can build a custom lay out.

Hehe.. I think I want the commercial grade one. I have a very big back yard. Ok so I'm not serious about putting one in my yard. But I am interested in them. I've only seen two (Riverside and Canobie Lake) and I think they're very fun! I like not having to change into a bathing suit to ride and not getting totally soaked or sitting in water but still getting the waterslide feel.

WhiteWater (one of the leading waterslide manufacturers) makes two slides like the one you described...
