Hey FL users of coastercrazy, go to www.flstudio.com looks to me this was very well worth the wait. I know something else here will be worth the wait also.

I use Adobe Audition, now. I have someone that makes the drums for me, so FL is a bit useless at this point.

^ You what? pfff...
FL Studio 11 looks like a really impressive DAW. Will stick to Cubase for now and check this one out as time goes by. It's about time Image-line up their game a bit to compare with Pro tools, Cubase, Ableton live and Sonar

I never used it for electronic music. I used to make drums and bass lines in it, but I can record actual bass now, and someone else makes the drums for me. It's pretty good for electronic music, though.

I dont know if this is all true or not but one time I've requested them to update to fl 10.5 by having some sort of editing option inside the piano roll. A week later to my amazment I think my request has been answered correctly. They came out with fl 10.5beta and all the way to fl 11.

If I could remember correctly maybe something to do that it now records sustained and unsustained notes sequenchially using a foot pedal device. I think theres now a special way to edit them in the piano roll for something to turn out just right after each midi or midi synth recordings one does in a sequenchial manner of some sort. Its easy to do but cant remember the details since its been a while.

Also afraid of all these daw's becoming easier/cheaper to use. I'm not a fan of the genre but there are a couple of songs aka 3 in a thousand I would listen too.

In the past a 20 song electronic album might have 5 or 6 songs that is really well produced and good to listen too. Today you struggle to to find 1 in a 1000 due to all the crap being made.

I wonder how more random music can get.

I actually have a question for you FL folks. Just recently, out of nowhere, my avid mbox mini stopped working with FL studios. It has ALWAYS worked before, but now when I try to use it with FL this error message appears. "not enough ASIO channels available. Atleast two channels are needed." Before many of you say it, YES I HAVE updated my drivers for both ASIO and the mbox. I've tried everything, and nothing will fix this. It is a huge issue considering I am releasing an album very soon that I am unable to master due to this issue.

Have you tried freeing up some ASIO channels?

Hmmmmm I once had that same problem before. Maybe your having too much musical work flow and your system can only take so much. Maybe its taking up most of your ASIO. Have you tried uninstalled and reinstalled FL including your ASIO channels? Make backups of your works to be safe just in case.

You don't need to reinstall FL or your ASIO channels. Just make sure your ASIO channels are clear of devices you're not using.

I agree in the sense that I don't like 99% of electronic music. But that 1% I really love. It's just gotten to the point where lots of teenagers are trying to make wub wub sounds or recreate Optimus Prime taking a sh*t and inserting it into some "music".

"Alright guys here's a song I started and worked on all day yesterday! Whew that's a lot of work!"

I guess it's like starting NL though. I remember when spending a whole day on a coaster was a lot of work. Now side projects last a month, and the biggest ones last from 6 months to a year(s).

The bad part is that new, big-name people are making this kind of stuff too. I don't care if it's "hard to do also", but I hate this music so bad.

I'm not sure how to detect if any other programs are using my ASIO driver. any tips?

I'll grab some screen shots the next time I record some stuff.

EDIT: I'm having some problems with my ASIO panel right now, so I can't post any screenies for you. Check out the instruction manual to see about devices using the driver.

Edit 2: In fact, page 3 of the manual shows the panel, so you know what you're looking for.

I disagree. A well produced track (song) can be done in a few hours, days, weeks, months or years. All it takes is the knowledge, creativity and work flow to do so. It's not uncommon for a producer to tell you that their favorite track they've made has been finished in a very short period of time (less than a day maybe?). It's the kind of track that just produces itself, you don't have to take breaks when making it because you're just so indulged in perfecting it then and there, if you left it for a few minutes, you might loose the flow of creativity. If you know what you're using well (synths, samples, general DAW use) it's very possible that a good track can come from less than a days work.

On topic: I don't use FL studio. Ableton Live <3

No.

Any audio track that deserves the title of being a complete production needs to go through mastering. I would like to listen to a production and audio engineers track that did this in a couple of hours.
