SA accent and levels test.

Myself and co owner of Atelier recording studios are busy creating some tutorial video's on practically everything that happens in a recording studio from production to how to setup a drum mic kit.

I recorded the following sample over an unfinished track to check the levels and listened too it hoping my accent is understandable. I'm not on hundreds of forums so decided to ask here if any of you would be able to learn anything with that dumb accent of mine?

not me, one of my best freinds, one i share deep secrets and long deep talks with over the last 10 years is a south african woman so it sounds normal to me.

We'll listening to it now I can adjust a bit on the levels but will need to keep the audio of whatever I'm working on, true and uncompressed. It needs to sound as close as possible to what the person listening will hear. So far it sounds ok just need to take note of play through sequences and shut up during that.

Us Afrikaans people sounds worse than dutch but at least we talk a bit slower.

Through laptop speakers you was fine till around I think 2:07 and then was hard to pick out what you was saying. Accent wise is fine not as deep SA as I have heard in the past.

In all fairness, I used to work with someone from South Africa (he used to refer to his fellow countrymen as keffas, which I understand is pretty bad... but he was just like that), and his accent was much much thicker than yours. I found it quite amusing to listen to him talk, because it was fun to try and decipher exactly what he was saying
