ATTN: At This Time Entries to the contest are NO LONGER being accepted. We're totally booked for this evening! No worries, this one was a success and I plan on doing another as soon as this ends!

I haven't been very active on this site in a very long time, but I'm really craving doing a contest. I want to make this contest as non-competitive as possible. All I ask is that people have fun building the rides, and my personal biases will decide which ride is best, and no prizes will be given. haha. I am completely inexperienced when it comes to contests, so I apologize if things seem a bit shaky.

Ideas are free to be thrown around, and I am incredibly malleable when it comes to rule bending.

I'm looking for all rides to be finished and turned in BY THE END OF JUNE. So you'll have a little over a month to complete your shenanigans.

Feel free to post construction photos and advertisements for your ride in this topic if you like. I will view the topic regularly and I am very interested in the progress people will be making. The more the merrier.

Anywho, down to brass tax... rules and goals.

Your goal is to create a medium sized B&M floorless coaster. Whilst slightly smaller than the average Floorless (but bigger than Daemon ofcourse haha) the ride must deliver the same thrills of the big boys. Space is limited, and the park has asked that you use it to it's best advantages. (In all honesty Its been too long since I've seen a good floorless coaster around here, that is my motivation behind the idea.)

Rules:

* Must be a B&M Floorless
* Must NOT go outside of the designated template
* Must NOT go over 125' tall
* Must have at least 3 inversions
* One inversion MUST be a vertical loop
* Must accommodate 3 trains of 8 cars each
* Must enter the red "X" areas at least once.
* Absolutely NO 3DS!!! Just the basic no limits stuff. Wanna build an Egyptian pyramid out of wooden supports? Be my guest... But NO external 3ds programs are to be used.

No limit on track length
Supports MAY exit the template
Terraforming and trees are allowed

_____________________________________________________________________

Again, feel free to suggest things. Chances are I'll find a way to make this contest as simple and care-free as possible.

Mods? I apologize if I didn't exactly "propose" the contest in the right way...

I am very bad at keeping track of who enters and such, So that being said, Just post that you're entering and I'll try to make a list as usual. I am only going to allow 15 people to enter the contest... Any more and honestly I would lose track... So act fast.

Once all contestants have entered, I will post the template and the contest will begin.

Sounds fun! Count me in. This will be a great opportunity to work on support structures.

I'm generally up for contests, unless they're the kind where all the entrants rate each others' entries and the highest rated wins. I found out that I don't like those.
I just noticed that I have yet to submit a floorless coaster to this site that is actually supposed to be a floorless rather than a wingrider.

I will put it out there that if this is successful i will honor comp medals for the winners. A good B&M comp always gets people interested. I would say do not limit style type though as would make for a more varied result for limitations.

Good luck with this venture and if you want help I will try.

^ gav, I'm terrible with contests so If you would like to be my second judge, or my "right hand man" you're more than welcome. I will upload a screenie of the template soon just so Ya'll can decide if you like it or not.

Also gav, style type is not limited. As long as it is a floorless and it contains a loop in it, You won't be disqualified. You can do a launch, lift, vertical lift, anything that you feel will be helpful to your originality score.Like I said, I'm trying to keep this fun, and open for creativity.

Yup. What are the dimensions of the template? I want to know because I like making compact coasters and I hope the template isn't too big.

740' horizontally (I think)
530' bottom left corner to top left corner (again, if I'm reading the grid correctly, these measurements should be fairly accurate.)

What the hell, I'll jump in on this.

Edit: restrictions on transport sections? Does it have to be a lift or can it be launched?

^ These days that wouldn't surprise me. For now I'm playing it by ear. I'd at least like to get 10 contestants.

I'm definitely in. I think the template should be a little more complex, I prefer more restrictions to less, something with height restrictions in certain areas (min or max) and some narrower areas of the template like the NLTs from 2011 and round one from 2012 or even something like the small areas inside the template that can't have track in them like the 2009 round 3. Just my 2 cents.

^ eh, I want to keep things compact but still leave some freedom to the designer. Again, you have to understand that the ONLY reason I'm putting this together is because this site has been lacking of good floorless coasters lately. I don't want to make things TOO challenging. I do Appreciate the feedback though, and I'm also happy to have you as a contestant :)

I understand and can't speak for others, but I rarely finish track's that aren't under some sort of time pressure, mainly due to just not having layout inspiration, the heavier constraints help the layout take shape in my head instead of just being vague idea. In addition to the ideas above more complex template shapes are also fun.
