Mine runs 3 trains easily, I had the room for the brake sections. Did it need to enter BOTH red X's? The way I read the rules, it seemed only one needed to be...

Whew. Then I guess my design will be a little easier now. Once I am unlazy enough to make my intended signature element(s), I shall post an update.

^ Sounds interesting. I'm anxious to see what you come up with haha. Everybody having fun with this contest so far? If so I have an idea for another one after this one ends. (Being that it is summer, I'd like to boost site activity as much as possible with contests and such)

^I'm having a lot of fun! I am honestly in love with my layout so far, and I can't wait to see it finished.

And more contests are fine with me, they're the only way I actually finish rides.

I wonder if I picked too ambitious a layout for my level of experience with FVD++.

^ What makes you say that? haha. From what I've seen your ride looks interesting so far. Everyone's does really, and I'm VERY excited to rate and ride every single entry.

That whole topic about a secret method of hand-building kinda activated something inside me, so I may try it hand-built. So frustrating trying to build this one signature element in FVD++ and I don't feel like dealing with it right now. Maybe later. Also I think I can be more creative than what I showed (similar to what I showed but different), so I may post an update tomorrow. I'll see in time if this decision is official.

Does the ride have to run exactly 3 trains or at least 3 trains?

Well, it's tomorrow now.

Slight change to the pretzel inversion.

Unusual element. Not completely tested so there may be shaping/smoothness issues but it's the combination of elements that I want. I think I'm putting creativity first and realism at a close second, like I usually do.

ATTENTION ALL PARTICIPANTS:

As you may have noticed, I am not a premium member, thus I can only download three measly tracks a day... For this contest to work, all entries MUST be sent via E-Mail.

Basshead1000@gmail.com is where I'd like all entries to be sent upon completion.

Official due date for your rides? Lets go with July 1st for now.

meh, I wanted to go with something that wouldn't go too much outside of B&M's design style, and wouldn't be a pain to support later on. yeah some really poopty shaping in the back and in the transition, but I'll smooth that out along the way.

does the station building need to be within bounds, or just the track?

I believe he said just the track.
In case this has already been replied to, here's some actual content:

For suggestions, how about another tight fit contest? Maybe a height requirement of at least 140 feet and a template size of 30 feet by 200 feet, see how much you can cram in there. Just a suggestion. Might have to be a Euro-fighter if given those specs.

Check out round 2 from 2006, the unique element part of that round was interesting ,so maybe you could add something like that to a future contest. Intamin rockets are fun too, so I wouldn't mind a contest involving them.

Or a "ring" contest again.

Anyway, layout is sort of coming together, not too sure about it though...

I also think a tight fit Vekoma flyer contest would be neat since I was thinking about making a compact flyer anyway.
