2013 CoasterCrazy CoasterDraft

Welcome to the coasterdraft, the game where we try to gather rollercoaster coasters from around the world to create the best coaster collection. Everybody can sign up, which you can do right after you read through the rules below:

The rules
The draft will consist of 10 round where everybody gets a chance to add a coaster to their park. The amount of players is limited to 24 players, so please only sign up if you are able to participate for the entire duration of the draft (approx. 1 to 2 months). You must be able to check this site at least once every 24 hours.

Initial picking order
The order of players is determined by picking a random number. When you sign up, include a number between 0 and 100. Once the signups have closed, I will pick a random number and the distance between your lucky number and the random number determines your position on the picking order.

Picking coasters
Players pick coasters in groups of four. How this works is explained below. You pick a coaster simply be naming the coaster (and the park if there are more coasters with the same name). To keep things fair, you cannot edit your post.
Lots of players tend to forget this, so I'll repeat it: YOU CANNOT EDIT YOUR POST. If you post is edited, the pick will not be accepted. If you made a typo or you want to include a picture, simply make a second post. If you edit your post, you?????????ll have to make a new (unedited) post to make your pick count.
You can only pick coasters that are currently operating. Coasters that are closed for rehab, repairs or because of seasonal closing are considered opened. RCDB.com will be used, unless you can provide other information.
Dueling and racing coasters count as one coaster.
Once a coaster has been picked by another player, it becomes unavailable to the other players.
Every group of four players gets exactly 24 hours to pick their coasters. This time starts either from the moment I start the round or once all four players of a group have picked a coaster.
At the end of each round, the order of players is reversed and I will start the next round.

Missing turns
If you fail to pick a coaster before the 24 hour deadline, you miss that turn. If you make an invalid pick (closed or already taken coaster) and you do not correct your mistake before the 24 hours run out or one of the players from the next group picks a coaster, you miss that turn as well.
Because players missing turns is bad for the pace of the coasterdraft, you will be disqualified if:
- You miss the first turn
- You miss two turns in a row
- You miss three turns in total.
Coasters picked by disqualified players remain theirs and will not become available for other players.
If you take over from a disqualified player, you may pick as many coasters as the disqualified player missed turns so you get a full park to continue with.

Skipping turns
If you fear that you are unable to make your pick during the coming round, you can ?????????skip????????? a round. You must clearly state that you are skipping that round (before the deadline of your own pick). When the next round comes around, you can pick one more coaster. You can use the ?????????skip????????? option two times in the entire draft.

End of the draft
When the 10 rounds are over you must submit a park name and you must vote which of the other parks you think has the best coaster collection. Details will be posted at the end of the draft, just remember to stick around and keep checking the site even after all the rounds are finished.

Simultaneous picking
As stated above, picking will be done in groups of four. The picking of coaster will be priority based instead of first-come-first-serve. Players get a rank from 1 to 4.
The player with rank 1 has the highest priority and will receive whatever coaster he picks.
The player with rank 2 receives the coaster he picks as long as player 1 doesn't pick it as well. If player 2 picks before player 1, he has to include a back-up coaster in case player 1 takes his coaster away from him.
The same goes for players 3 and 4, they have to include so many back-up coasters in case the players with higher priorities pick the same coaster(s).
I understand that this system might be hard to understand so please let me know if anything isn't clear to you and I'll happy to explain it some more.

- You can sign up now, don't forget to include your lucky number. Signups close Friday 5th at midnight (site time) and the draft will start very soon after that.
- Please sign up only if you have the time to check the site once a day during the entire draft.
- Make sure you understand the rules (especially the 4-at-a-time-picking). And DON?????????T EDIT your posts.

In order to give everybody some time to prepare the draft will start exactly 24 hours from this post's timestamp. Then, titanrocks01, mkingy, Ckidd and Pad will have 24 hours time to pick their coasters. mkingy, Ckidd and Pad mustn't forget to add additional coasters to their pick if one or more players with a higher priority haven't picked yet. Once the 24 hours are over or all four have picked a coasters, the next group of four can begin picking their coasters.

Please remember that you must pick a coaster in the first round or you will be kicked and do not edit the post in which you pick your coasters, as that will make your pick invalid.
