Murder Mountain

Geological researches have recently found the site of countless murders from centuries passed near Devil's Tombstone in Hunter, NY. Legend says that "sinners" and "witches" were taken to the mountain top, and sacrificed to the mountain gods. The following photos were taken upon discovery earlier today.





More to follow once ground has been broken in an effort to locate the corpses. It is also suspected that there could be caves and old mine shafts.

Neat looking terrain so far! Good luck with the 3ds. I could never handle it beyond making blocks.

EDIT: Sorry to be an ass but geologists do real work and anthropologists make conclusions from clay pots. Sorry....

It's still a better story than what half of real theme parks come up with.


Edit: Real talk for a minute: This is going to be a Vekoma mine train coaster that travels through abandoned mining sites and briefly plunges to the depths of hell. Basically, it's all tunnels and 3 big rooms inside the mountain. There will be a short stop at the top of the lift that allows riders to disembark and "explore" the mine shafts. I may or may not make that a station segment for the sake of the restraints opening. It will most likely be a 3 second brake section.

Breaking news:
It appears that the exploration efforts of the researchers has unearthed yet another mystery of the mountain. Bill Stanton, head of the research team told reporters today that while excavation ran smoothly, signs of local wildlife disappeared. After a team of 4 researchers expanded the official site from 5 square miles to 10, it was discovered that all water in the immediate area had mysteriously turned into lava. It is still unknown what has caused the occurrence.

There's been an update in the story. Evidence found at the dig site suggests ancient catacombs on the east side of the mountain. Efforts to run tracks through the area have begun. More to follow once the catacombs have been found.

So #1 Is clearly where you said they could get off and do a bit of exploring

I'd say 4 is a launch, with a slight incline - into a overbanked turn.

#2 Is maybe a fairly high section diving into a large underground cave with water/lava feature

#3 I think is mostly the tunnels with a few smaller caverns.

And mkingy, you're not that far off.

If you ask me, It makes more sense for the "walk -around" thing to be either the exit or an in queue event.

Finally! A layout I'm happy with. It's short, but I'll make sure to pack some 3ds in there to compensate. Now that it's all white, it makes the guessing that much harder!


Ajax, while I do agree with that notion, that works best on a realistic type of coaster. This is a fantasy coaster that sticks to the theme more than it does actual limitations. For example, if Universal made this, they would theme the queue for guests to "explore". I'm completely bypassing the idea of this ever being made in any realistic sense.



Edit: The entrance and exit to the inside of the mountain have been recovered!

Actually, I just changed it to wooden for sketchup. Mine trains aren't available in the construction kit, and I needed the sqare tunnels for reference
