I will just sit on the sidelines while I munch on popcorn if this is the Pandora's box that leads this thread to descend into hell by starting a nuclear Mac vs. PC war instead of talking about No Limits 2.
If I can wait 60 years for a new coaster, you can wait for the Mac version.

I'm hoping this place will get revitalized when NL2 debuts.

Last Time I checked, Mac OSX was more of a bloated pig than Windows. I've used both, in fact I own computers with both. Mac OS especially recent versions is a ram hog, especially since Lion.

What about having a PC and a Mac?

Anyways. I really want to see that dive machine station floor in action.

I'm guessing it also applies to any floorless coasters. Probably a vertically moving floor for inverted coasters too.
You expecting something not being here?

Mac version will probably have a couple of menu tweaks and one or two new features (I think the node splitter tool was new on the Mac version but I am probably totally wrong about that) like it did when they eventually ported it over to OSX in No Limits 1.

Or they'll just port it over directly and not care assuming the ogg music file option doesn't somehow violate the precious sanctity of the various Apple restrictions they have on music to assist the glorious dear leader known as iTunes.

I was kinda wondering about the exchange sites dealing with copyright when activating on ride music using scripting and sharing the coaster.

Might have to do separate music file hosting to prevent copyright issues. We'll investigate further and see if we could have a solution in place on rollout.

If it's packaged in amidst a lot of other things, I don't think it would be that revealing. Either way I'm excited though - I assume NL2 will use WAV files and we can start adding our own sounds to the environment. I've already had quite a few ideas of where to bring this.

I think hiding copyrighted material would just end up being a massive problem down the line when these companies discover that their material is being used without permission. Better to ascertain a solution where the site is clearly not infringing on rights.

Simple: Have a clear policy on using any material that you don't have permission to use in a project. Warning, temporary ban, perma ban. Stick a report button around or just have people use the forums.

However, those of us bundling audio that we created ourselves, have permission to use, and/or are otherwise licensed under certain Creative Commons licenses, don't want to deal with extra BS when packaging projects just because a bunch of people will break the rules. Hopefully NL2's packaging system doesn't cause problems here, because it's not up to the software to decide nor police copyrighted content.

Although that said, the REAL goal here is to prevent the MAFIAA from coming after any coaster exchange. It's difficult to say whether they would, since the coaster community is small, but weirder stuff has happened. However, I don't want to deal with NL2's packaging system skipping certain files just because they're more commonly used without permission than others. That's an issue for exchanges to enforce.

As far as audio formats go, I'm for OGG. I'm fairly sure MP3 requires royalties for software to playback, although VLC doesn't seem to have to deal with that. WAV may be faster, but it's also the BMP of audio formats, so hopefully they'll support FLAC instead for lossless audio and OGG and/or MP3 for lossy/small files.
