I live in Florida and school just started this monday[:(]. I now get up at 5:50AM and leave for school an hour later by bike. School starts at 7:10 and ends at 2:00! This is my first year of high school and I do hope I do good. I was scared to death on the first day ([lol]), but now I think it's ok[;)]. The only problem with this school is the hallways are confusing[confused]. My english teacher told us to stand when we agreed or said yes to one of her questions and one of them was, "Stand up if you think the school designers were drunk when they created the hallways." and everybody in the class stood up [lol]. I hope the rest of the year is like that.[:)]

My school just started, i'm an 06 sophmore (yeah yeah!!!!) Any who, the school is being renovated so tehy tear down half the school and we have trailors on the front lawn. The trailors dont have bells so teh teachers dismess when they think its time but unlike teachers at other schools, the teachers here dismiss early (party because the schools clock is 5 minutes behind the rest of the world). But now we have about 350 freshman and the school is jammed! In between classes is a nightmare and the stairways are standstills, worst part is only 5 minutes in between class! Oh well, the renovations will be done in 2 years (maybe) and i'll be a senior and after that i'll be on my way to georgia tech!

WHAT!? I don't want to pay that much when I go to college for just my books. Can't they just provide them for you? the price of going to college is enough to spend, that would suck having to pay that much more.

Well, here's my secret: My CAL Grant is covering all of my tuition.(Class fees) So, all I had to pay for was my student ID and my art supplies. I am on my own for books.

I doubt there is a college in the world that will just provide the books for you free of charge. In college, you don't "borrow" the books for a year like in high school. You buy them, and then you keep them for the rest of your life (or you sell them for a discount to future students). I have spent as much as $500 on books for one semester before; it is just part of the cost of college.
