TRS, you're failing to recognize that this release will be NoLimits 2.0, the first of its kind, whereas right now we are on NoLimits 1.8. That means the current version of NL is on its ninth iteration of the 1.X series. If you had been playing this since 1.0, you'd be whining to no end. The development team will provide updates over time, so don't be so infantile.

Engaged with the community! Phyter has 14 posts (as of this post ) out of how many threads and posts in this forum that by one members (hyyyper )in his words "there is and your looking at it".

But seriously asking a question to a official from NL.

Has there been an official system requirements list published for the public yet? Maybe I have missed this.

A post count does not determine how "engaged" one is with the community. As already mentioned this is one forum in one site not the end-all-be-all of nl2 forums. How do you know the developers of NL and NL2 haven't been im'ing or in chat rooms gathering feedback, you seem as uninformed as a rock that has been stuck in the middle of the desert for hundreds of years. Anyway, I actually prefer the wire frame in the editor mode. It keeps things simple and provides a 3-d look at the same time. If you look at most design and engineering tools, most notably, auot-cad, it is set up as wire frame for editing and full detail rendering in 2 different programs. As most of you may recall, most of the "modern" steel coasters all came from a man playing with a single wire, looking at different formations and shaping before going to full design mode, so, hey it all started with a wire, anyway. lol

@phyter: thanks for makiung such a great product that is not ony fun but somewhat educational. it gives those of us who have always dreamed about designing roller coasters a way of keeping that dream alive.

How hard would it be to have a cell-shading mod? As I do my 3Ds with supports and catwalk, I'd love having no textures at all. But that's secondary.

You guys know that he didn't actually bend wires to make rides, it was just an example of how he got inspiration.

I mean seriously guys you'd kill someone if you tried that. THINK

Well if the rock is only 100's of years old that must be from a pretty neato volcano that recently blew up and have lots of temp/pressure/chemistry information lurking inside it Mr. Smartypants

Can terrain be edited up high? Is there a height limit?

Phyter, Will a 2 train dispatch setup be possible just like how Top Thrill Dragster has it?
Meaning, will 2 trains be able to be moved out to the launch area at the same time and then the next 2 trains come in to the station to be loaded at the same time?

^^ Terrain can go as high as the build area; roughly 1600 feet.

^ Technically any scenario is possible with scripting so long as the classes and methods are there to allow it. If there are any scenarios that crop up that aren't possible with the current API then we'll be able to add those new methods easily.

On a scale from 1-10, how difficult would you say scripting will be?
I know you said there will be a sample park to base it off of, but what if the effect we want to create is not included in that sample park? How difficult would it be to figure out how to do something completely on our own from 1-10?
Thanks!

It's difficult to put it on a scale like that. If you have experience programming Java or C# then it will be relatively straight forward. But if you have no experience programming at all and you're starting from scratch then the learning curve is going to be steep. What we expect will happen is that the minority of users that can program are going to start churning out scripts that others like yourself can plug into their parks without requiring any additional skill.

I'm guessing the NL team is pushing to release this before Christmas so they can get a sales boom.

im pretty sure this is on topic. (YES i did read the release notes on the N L site, but i have some specific questions). how do i tell if my grafix card will handle the software. when i purchased NL originally i had to practically build a new computer to handle it . im not rich, so i have a very low budget when it comes to what i can afford as far as a graphics adapter. is there a >50 dollar pci express card i can buy that will do it?
