Going pro for $100, looks like this may very well be worth the wait after all the time and effort they spent on this simulation. Looks like this will be the best one than what we've anticipated.
About 9 days left.
NL2 should scale down quite well considering it's only using DirectX 9. However, the real issue begins when larger scale parks and higher quality models/assets are made by users. If you can run games like Battlefield 3 playably, then you're definitely all set, and personally would be the standard I go for. My own projects will be optimized as well as I can, but I will not hold things back to support obsolete video hardware. If it runs well enough on a Radeon 5770 (I'll test, I have a machine for it), it's up for release on the exchange.
OK, so my shiny new iMac is due to be delivered tomorrow. I'll have to figure out Boot Camp and install Windoze on it until the Mac native version comes out. I really, really, REALLY hate to do that, but for this I will do it.
Naturally, I'm on vacation beginning Jan 10, so I'll have to wait a week before I can tinker around with it.
I declare that the following week will be the most torturous week of them all.
Its not bothering me as much now that we have a set date. I was checking the NL.de site every hour for pretty much all of December. I haven't been on the site since the date announcement.
