Ok im no fan of CS.com but i do think that there idea of having to rate coasters is quite good so this means that every coaster has at least 10 rates which is good. Lets see what you think then.

Not necessarily. CS.com members never rated any of my coasters until I gained a reputation. Also, there are several times when you feel that enough has been said about a coaster already, and don't think you can add anything to the ratings. The rule of CS.com would have minimal success here, because this site is not as competition-oriented, and most people just come here to have fun. I'd like to keep it that way.

Totally agree with that, cjd. The forced rating system that cs.com uses is one of its bad qualities, imho. I really like this site the way it is.

hmmm force members to rate, then get more complaints that this user did nto comment enough and blah blah blah, while if we let the will of the people rate, we get better quality ratings.
I personally don't like forcing people to rate, it would be nice to see them rate more and adding a forced to rate thing is easy to add. I just don't want to see bunch of bs ratings go up, especially since most of you don't have enough rated tracks to start off with to dl again, check your downloads, go to track exchange and click my downloads in the main menu and see your rating to dl percentage there. I have checked out MANY users and 90% of them are under 10% rated so we would see a spawn of ratings at first, but what will the quality be like eh? Not too good I assume. I think it should be left as is or I might do a general site poll and poll everyone to see if they would like something like it here.

this site is perfect just the way it is. The fact that it doesnt make you foce to rate makes it already 5 times better than CS and the members of the site make it 10 times better hehe. Keep the site the same, the only thing i would like to see would be a section for recreations, other than that this site is the best!

recreations? just select recreation from the category when uploading the track and it'll be classified as a recreation.

Ok in the track exchange when you click the a letter, like A B or C, it displays track titels that start with that letter, but they arent in aplphabetical order, they are in the order in which they were uploaded, yeah

oh, well it is reasonable to list the newest uploaded first. You want alphabetical listing, just click "track name" and it'll sort it alphabetically for that letter [:)]

Well here is my two cents on the deal. I don't mind rating the coasters but I can't build thim worth a crap so basically should I have the right to knock someone elses creation. Let explain here, I know what it takes and know what to do but my coasters are just plan crap so I don't upload them. Is it really fair to so and so that I rate there coasters when I just can't make one that I feel is up to par.......

[stoning] The coasters here arent 'crap' is just that the designers are still improving. Most the tracks are people first or second coasters, which compared to some people may be quite good although they have several flaws. Ypur suposed to help these people out by giving them detailed ratings letting know what to improve, so they can become a better designer

lostst8ofmind hey foo, well uhmm I say just download and rate as you wish. I mean if the track just is damn good, like it flows quite good, isn't throwing out around and stuff thyena good rate is in store. I have hard times building tracks, well laying them out actually [lol] and I dunno, tend to rate the tracks here in comparisons to the many others uploaded here. Some excel above the others and that is where the 7's and 8's come out from me. Just are just plain average quality uploaded rides so they get the 5.5's from and stuff.
and goliath,
here is 50% of the coasters crap.
You're in that 50% crap list, what to do for you to make a bold statement of that is to be in the upper 50% but you're not, with that said, in ratings, just give comments on where the rider can improve their building skills, try to give them tips on how if you know a way that can help them. Tell them that their track neeeds this this and that to ride better. Don't be afraid to tell someone who designs better than you that their coaster isn't all good, point is for everyone to help everyone out in building better descent rides [:)]
